Rex at it again

Just an FYI and we can let this go. This issue before the court is whether Goodell can prove he was evident partial when he rendered the verdict. That is the law of the 2nd court in NY. This CBA article 46 is FOS and the judge can easily dismiss. if the Judge finds Goodell wasn't impartial in the arbitration hearing good bye to the finding. He wouldn't be stripping the commish of his ability to enforce. He would be saying you weren't fair and open minded like a factfinder has to be.

If you read those transcripts which I wouldn't blame you not for doing since they are over 450 pages. You see how little understanding of the law Goodell has and in rendering his verdict LIED ABOUT what actually happened. That is going to allow the judge if he wants to rule against the NFL show it was evidently impartial thus the article 46 stuff is useless.

The brief by Kessler last night was a direct blow to Goodell's creditability.
no i did not read it and never intend to, the fact that it is even in a Federal Court...intensifies my hate of brady.

i always go by the rule of Common Sense...and Common Sense is brady cheated.

so he should be punished.

now Common Sense is he also doesnt deserve 4 games.

again, the dumb stupid schmuck shouldve just pulled a Costanza...'was that wrong??' and everybody wouldve laughed with him, he wouldve gotten a fine and we all wouldve moved on.

this is insanity.

Williams was a huge back and I would think will be your goal line back. If Williams can pass block then Bryce Brown or Anthony Dixon could be traded.
Thing with Karlos Williams is he's fast too. Bryce Brown looks amazing when not fumbling. I still think we should keep BB and work all day, every day on his ball control. Dixon, IMO, is odd man out. Everyone else is way too talented to get rid of.

First just any FYI it was Goodell and the NFL that brought this case to federal court in NY not Brady.

Again thank you for sane hatred of Brady. I can't tell you what to think but if you ever wanted to know I could tell you the actual facts and evidence of the case. This common sense standard is completely subjective as I doubt you care to understand this whole thing escalated under a false report from Chris Mortensen which has been proven to be 100% and their is no evidence anything happened to the balls during the AFC Championship game.

We can let it go now. Good luck to the Gmen hope we see 2 NE-NYG games that matter this year as it is an election year.

A lot of teams Cleveland, Dallas, Arizona are looking for RBs. So if Dixon is the odd man out they should trade to him or if Brown could net you a 4th or 5th round pick maybe deal him.

wait, what??

they ruled on it and then said 'lets go to court'??

i thought they knew the weasel was going to file, so they put a 'in case of brady being an arsehole' thingy in with the fed.

whatever, its almost over and it looks like he will qb v the pokes...so, good.

Brown is a waste. Has some talent but it's always something - plus he's never going to get enough carries in Buffalo with McCoy, Jackson & now Williams.

Bills gave up way too much with a 4th round pick. Would be lucky to get a 7th rounder for him at this point, IMO.

OH COME ON! They only did that cause they knew Brady and the NFLPA would try to bring it to court in Minnesota,. Which they did a day later! Don't act like Brady didn't want this in court, he did. The NFL just outsmarted him and had it done in NY instead of Minnesota
The NFL gambled on NYC and this Judge Berman seems like a better judge for the NFLPA than the George W Bush appointed judge in MN. Also if you read the NFL's filing it basically reads we filed this case with you and by the way you can't tell us what to do. I recommend you read Kessler's 19 page filing from yesterday.

Bills fans who are watching the replay or saw the game... Thoughts on Karlos Williams? I loved his running style at FSU and was ecstatic when we drafted him. I love FJax but I'm not sure we haven't found ourselves a thunder/lightning duo with McCoy/Williams.
Pushes piles like Marshawn Lynch. Good speed. The coaching staff loves him.

It's going to be tough deciding what to do between Brown, Boobie, and Freddy.

NFLPA and Brady have caved! They are willing to accept a reduced suspension for Brady only if it states its because he was unwilling to cooperate with the investigation. No admission of having deflated footballs.

Adam Schefter reporting this this morning. Court is about to start up in a few moments
You realize this offer of 1 game for non-cooperation is unlikely to be accepted. As the NFL wants Brady to accept the Wells Report and the Brady side won't do that as a non-starter. Judge Berman wants a settlement the Brady side is showing Berman they are playing ball. If the NFL doesn't even get off the Wells Report that isn't going to help them with Berman.

I'm not sure why Ray Rice would come to Buffalo. McCoy, FJax, Brown and Dixon will all be back next week or the week after and Karlos Williams will be back by Week 1 or 2. Yea, he'll get some reps immediately but unless no one else is going to give him a chance, I would think we're the last team he would want to come to with 5 talented RB's already on the roster.

If he is on the Bills roster come Week 1 then his contract is fully guaranteed for the entire season. That's why he would go

I never thought I would be nervous about running back depth but I hope those guys get back as quickly as projected and are really healthy then. Holy crap - what a quick mass exodus.

It's not caving, it's a negotiation. It's a face saving initiative to solve this mess.

Hopefully Buffalo is getting their injury wave out of the way early. Knock on wood, we've only lost a backup LB and backup DE for the season but it seems like every other player is getting dinged up and having to sit the rest of preseason with a return date of Week 1 or 2.

I've never seen anything like it.. Literally every RB on a 5 man unit is dinged up, thank goodness none of it seems to be serious but coupled with Percy Harvin still being made of glass and losing Wynn and Powell for the season, yikes.

I do like Whaley's concept of bringing in former high round draft picks thinking that, with the right coaching and talent around them they can flourish. Signed Groves yesterday and I think may be on the verge of signing Red Bryant, along with IK, those are some solid FA additions to help offset the loss of LB/DE depth.

I really like the Groves signing and the possibility of Bryant also. Experienced depth is never a bad thing.

I wonder which way Judge Berman is leaning?

  1. Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 1m1 minute ago Manhattan, NY
I thought that was Berman's most striking line. Seemed he'd been thinking about it.

    >

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 2m2 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: "I believe some arbitration awards have been vacated" because a witness was not allowed to be called without explanation.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 3m3 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: The NFL "cannot just conclude they cannot have a witness bc testimony would be cumulative."

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 3m3 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: "I don't understand the thinking to not allow Mr. Pash as a witness. Who else but Pash had the opportunity to edit the Wells Report?

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 5m5 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Pash was editor of Wells Report and featured in NFL press releases

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 6m6 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
He grilled Nash on why the Brady team wasn't able to call Jeff Pash (need to doublecheck that name) wasn't allowed to be called as witness.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 9m9 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman's next point was heavy on legalese, but seemed very important.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 9m9 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: "I don't see how four games (for deflation, non cooperation) is comparable to using steroids and a masking agent."

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 10m10 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: How did he pick steroid use to explain he suspended Mr. Brady four games?"

  2. Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 11m11 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman then grilled Nash on Goodell's comparison of ball tampering/deflation to steroid use. Berman very skeptical of that point.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 12m12 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
To which Berman said "I have a little trouble with that."

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 12m12 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Nash again deferred to Goodell's judgement on that.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 13m13 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: "The next time someone tampers with a ball but cooperates, what suspension would he get?"

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 13m13 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: "Which of the four games were for ball tampering and which were for non cooperation?"

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 14m14 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman also wanted to know how Goodell settled on four game suspension.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 16m16 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Nash: "Brady was not just generally aware. He was involved." Berman: "Why doesn't it say that?"

  3. Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 17m17 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Nash: "The finding of the commissioner are entitled to deference."

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 18m18 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
He called Brady and the NFLPA simply a "disappointed grievant."

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 18m18 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Nash, again, relied mainly on Goodell's authority defined by the CBA.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 20m20 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman seemed to have no interest in the science behind deflation.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 21m21 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Kessler: "No one in the NFL knew anything about the ideal gas law, which is surprising because I think I studied that in 9th grade."

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 22m22 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Nash, for NFL, countered that entire Wells Report revolved around that game, so that should be assumed. Berman seemed skeptical.

Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 22m22 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: Brady's "general awareness" described by Wells didn't refer specifically to AFC championship. Said that was "conspicuously absent."

  4. Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 25m25 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman: "There is a bit of a quantum leap from the finding of Mr. Wells to the finding of Mr. Goodell." (from general awareness to scheme)

  5. Stephen Brown ‏@PPVSRB 26m26 minutes ago Manhattan, NY
Berman hit the NFL hard yet again, and again had problems with language of Wells Report and appeal process

I wonder which way Judge Berman is leaning?

If the NFLPA and Brady are so confident why are they willing to deal and take a reduced suspension? Wait for the verdict and face no suspension! Be careful to what you read and the "spin" being put on it

Have you not paid attention to the Judge. He is TELLING both sides he wants a settlement. The NFLPA/Brady is playing ball and showing J. Berman they are listening. Instead, the NFL is saying we want Brady to accept the findings of the Wells Report and then we will entertain a deal. How is that not obvious. If the Brady side didn't listen to the judge why would he even consider vacating this thing completely. It is almost as if the NFL is daring Berman to vacate it. As anyone with a brain knows Brady accepting the Wells Report is a complete non-starter.

I'm wondering something similar. If Brady did no wrong, why would he agree to miss even a game...that's really odd to me. Especially for an uber-competitor who is clearly concerned about his legacy.

Makes me wonder...
