Freshman Malachi Richardson is entering his name in the NBA Draft and not signing with an agent, according to Coach Jim Boeheim.

He's doing the right thing. Only concern is that will there be any quality players left to fill his void if he waits until late May and decides to bolt?

Smartest move he could make IMO and he's a player that is in a position to really benefit from this new rule. I wish him good luck. If he shows great he could make himself a lot of bank and if it doesn't wind up looking like he will go where he wants he should have a very good idea of what to improve on to be drafted highly next year.

yep. still baffles me how any/every player with nba aspirations wouldn't go this - Grayson, Trier, etc

Hope Mal stays, but we are in good shape to weather this loss. Battle can and will do anything and everything that Mal can do...

As long as we can grab a transfer for guard depth

Two guards?

No backups?

That means they're both playing 40 minutes a game.

You might want to rethink that.

Love to have him back next year, as would most of us. But whatever is best for Mal should be best for all of us. Get evaluated, then make sound, rational decision.

Sorry if answered already but how many players are offered the early evaluation? Every player who declares without signing an agent isn't provided with an evaluation are they?
