I always find it interesting when the fired coach gets hired in his next job before the place he leaves has hired the replacement.

Overall people down here in GA that I know are UT fans are pretty excited about Barnes although he's getting called the Mark Richt of CBB.

What's funny is that Rick Barnes turned down offers to both Ohio St and Tennessee to stay at Clemson the year before he accepted the Texas job in 1998.

Yes, this is troubling. Are people paying attention to SEC basketball? I think the giant is finally flexing its muscles.

In the last year, they've picked up Bruce Pearl, Ben Howland and Rick Barnes. Those are some serious hires for one of the "crappier" conferences at schools like Auburn, MS State and Tennessee. Hell, A&M has a top 5 recruiting class - Texas A&M!
