Rickie Collins

Whose bright idea was it to play on Halloween at night? Anyone with young kids will not be in attendance. Just plain stupid. Doesn’t really matter though because the way the season is going they probably wouldn’t come anyways.
It’s a tv show

For purposes of not starting Carney?

The Office Yes GIF
Unfortunately that is just another excuse for Fran to use for Rickie starting and playing the entire game. Then the next 2 weeks will be, we didn't want to make a change in a road hostile environment.

Dantley beat ND at ND
That's fair, but that wasn't a very good Notre Dame team. I just think people that say he's the worst quarterback they've ever seen haven't watched much football. I've seen a couple this year that were worse.
I'm not defending him and am just as frustrated as anyone that they still trot him out there every possession, I just don't get that upset about it anymore.

I’m so apathetic at this point… Rickie is just terrible and the coaching staff seems hell bent on continuing to play him. They’re either delusional, they have some behind the scenes motive to play him or they’ve just given up on this year and won’t blow anyone’s redshirt
How about we believe what coach Fran said all along. He said Ricky gives us the best chance to win right now. I believe him, but we have the worst QB room in college football

I don’t want to bash the kid but I have never see a QB as bad as Him! I have not had a drink in 3 weeks thinking maybe it was always the alcohol clouded my assessment on him. He is hands down the worst QB i have ever watched play for ‘Cuse!!
Agree 100%. Don’t think we’ve had a worse starting quarterback that I can remember. Maybe some of the board historians will point out some of our awful quarterbacks, but in my opinion Ricky Collins is the worst we’ve ever had.

While he would only complete 40% compared to 50% for Rickie, Dantley had a higher QBR thanks to a 2 to 1 TD/Int. He also had crap WRs vs a good bunch today.

I just think Fran will continue to play Ricky the rest of the season. Imagine if he makes the change after unc and we become even remotely competitive against nd and miami. The fans will go crazy for not making a change sooner. It’s not like Fran would be able to now claim the backup learned the playbook in a week.

One of the best ways to fail completely in business and life in general is to refuse to make a change because it might expose that you’d made a bad decision earlier. And it’s shocking how many people will choose to stick with a known bad option just to avoid that possibility.

Personally, if Fran made a QB change and it worked - I wouldn’t get upset that he should have made the change earlier. I’d be jumping for joy that we might have a true leader who will make changes even if they make earlier decisions he made look bad. Leaders like that are the ones who succeed long term - and I’m much more interested in long term success at Syracuse than in one season which appears lost.

(OK, OK…I’d be a little upset he didn’t make the change earlier. But I’d temper any criticism due to the fact he ultimately did, and we learned something positive about Fran’s mentality in the process).

On Halloween in my pre-kids post-college adulthood, there’s no way I would have chosen a football game over a Halloween party with girls dressed in a way they’d never dare to any other day of the year. The customer base for a football game on Halloween is probably even more limited than just losing families with kids.

I’d almost certainly have been paying some attention to the game on TV at whatever party I was at - and ESPN is much more interested in TV viewership than game attendance.

He hasn’t got it and won’t be here next year. Play for the future . Luke has 2 games and Filardi has 4 to not burn their redshirt (not that I think it matters) so play them both. Style offense to their strengths. See what you’ve got .
This may be one of our last chances to win a game with the exception of BC, but that said I totally agree with you. RC is gone next year whatever they are paying him is a waste. He is a good young man though, but you can't instill confidence in someone, it comes from within. When he lost the battle for QB this summer and embraced second string I knew something was up. But to be fair, the play calling and game management has been terrible, u
