One of the best ways to fail completely in business and life in general is to refuse to make a change because it might expose that you’d made a bad decision earlier. And it’s shocking how many people will choose to stick with a known bad option just to avoid that possibility.
Personally, if Fran made a QB change and it worked - I wouldn’t get upset that he should have made the change earlier. I’d be jumping for joy that we might have a true leader who will make changes even if they make earlier decisions he made look bad. Leaders like that are the ones who succeed long term - and I’m much more interested in long term success at Syracuse than in one season which appears lost.
(OK, OK…I’d be a little upset he didn’t make the change earlier. But I’d temper any criticism due to the fact he ultimately did, and we learned something positive about Fran’s mentality in the process).
