Rickie Collins

Well CDRW was putrid here, Awful, as bad as Collins.
Now he has dropped down in playing level and he is doing very well.
My guess is he is another CDRW.
I think CDRW for now is the worst in the last 10 years. But it is close.

I just think Fran will continue to play Ricky the rest of the season. Imagine if he makes the change after unc and we become even remotely competitive against nd and miami. The fans will go crazy for not making a change sooner. It’s not like Fran would be able to now claim the backup learned the playbook in a week.

One of the best ways to fail completely in business and life in general is to refuse to make a change because it might expose that you’d made a bad decision earlier. And it’s shocking how many people will choose to stick with a known bad option just to avoid that possibility.

Personally, if Fran made a QB change and it worked - I wouldn’t get upset that he should have made the change earlier. I’d be jumping for joy that we might have a true leader who will make changes even if they make earlier decisions he made look bad. Leaders like that are the ones who succeed long term - and I’m much more interested in long term success at Syracuse than in one season which appears lost.

(OK, OK…I’d be a little upset he didn’t make the change earlier. But I’d temper any criticism due to the fact he ultimately did, and we learned something positive about Fran’s mentality in the process).

Whose bright idea was it to play on Halloween at night? Anyone with young kids will not be in attendance. Just plain stupid. Doesn’t really matter though because the way the season is going they probably wouldn’t come anyways.

On Halloween in my pre-kids post-college adulthood, there’s no way I would have chosen a football game over a Halloween party with girls dressed in a way they’d never dare to any other day of the year. The customer base for a football game on Halloween is probably even more limited than just losing families with kids.

I’d almost certainly have been paying some attention to the game on TV at whatever party I was at - and ESPN is much more interested in TV viewership than game attendance.

He hasn’t got it and won’t be here next year. Play for the future . Luke has 2 games and Filardi has 4 to not burn their redshirt (not that I think it matters) so play them both. Style offense to their strengths. See what you’ve got .
This may be one of our last chances to win a game with the exception of BC, but that said I totally agree with you. RC is gone next year whatever they are paying him is a waste. He is a good young man though, but you can't instill confidence in someone, it comes from within. When he lost the battle for QB this summer and embraced second string I knew something was up. But to be fair, the play calling and game management has been terrible, u

Is Williams hurt?

Is not burning a year of eligibility a reason not to play Carney? I'm old school, so I like saving eligibility, but with the transfer portal does it really matter?
He looked fine on Saturday.
All of the QBs threw passes when there was a timeout, including Carney and Williams.

All indications are he’s not in the programs long term plan or the program isn’t in his long term plan

What’s hilarious is that some posters were ripping on Pena for leaving because “he should have stuck around to try to make Collins better”.

He’s missing wide open guys constantly. How the hell is a WR going to “make the QB better” when that guy simply cannot pass? The QB still has to throw the ball, and Collins can’t except for random lucky miracles once in a great while.

If this is all we had, I’m going to be glad the entire team didn’t just tap out and hit the transfer portal instead of being upset at the guy who did. If Collins started the year, we’d be looking at an o-fer season. I suspect everyone on the team knew that well before we did.
You could give Rickie Collins prime Jerry Rice, Megatron, and Randy Moss and I think he would still look like a D2 QB.
