We have Nixon. He’ll have a gameplan ready that is perfect for Collins. Look at all the wrinkles he pulled out against Clemson when the game threads at times were like, wth are we doing on offense. Myself included. I have no doubt we’ll have a plan that makes sense.

Let’s also remember. Collins came in and also didn’t lose us the game. I was worried Clemson might find a way back into it. Imagine an INT returned for a TD. That would have potentially been a huge momentum booster for Clemson. That didn’t happen. Let’s see how he handles a full game with a real week of prep.

With an inexperienced QB starting this week, I'd defer. Give yourself halftime to make some adjustments if needed. I expect him to be better in the second half than he was in the first. Although Duke can adjust too.

I think it is because coaches want to see a half and get that second-half drive script together based on first half results/tendencies.

Statistically, the deffering team can score at the end of the first half and gets the ball to start the second half.

Agree. Although the double score before half always bugs me if the opponent has that chance.

Hoping playing against Duke and not a powerhouse will allow chances for Collins to build confidence quickly. Coaches need to prepare him, calm him, and give him some basic easy passes to start. Throwing to Villari would be good.

Angeli won the job in the fall simply because of his experience and leadership. Not a knock on Rickie just the facts. Rockies hasn’t taken a snap at P4 level. Angeline played in more than 10 games. It is my feeling that Rickie will be fine. But this is game one for him. Regarding Carney, just a freshman. Very skilled QB, that’s why he’s here. His High School numbers we video game like. Not disagreeing but "Angeli won the job in the fall simply because of his experience and leadership" is not really the case - I think we would all agree that Angeli is far more talented QB than Rickie or just about any QB in college - he was starting to look on par with McCord

He was extremely close to winning the job. Not sure how you feel about him or if you have had a chance to watch him practice but he has loads of talent. Hes just not as polished as Steve at this point. My only concern with him is that he is prone to forcing the ball.

That was my point to all the doom and glooms(Not just here, everywhere). We have a guy who we all thought was going to be the starter just 6 months ago. So I feel pretty confident in him.

Hes not nearly as accurate as Angeli, but his arm power is definitely better.

I also do not think his decision making is as fine tuned as Angeli from the brief times ive watched him but I think that can develop with in game play.

The game needs to slow down a bit for him and he has to trust his talent. Luckily we have a great OC and great receivers with large catch radii. He might not hit the tight windows (at first) as McCord or Angelli, but if there is one on one coverage, I think he will be able to put in good enough spots for our receivers to go and get it. Hopefully he can be accurate in the short passes to Cook and Vilari to keep the chains moving.
