I'm just as mortified by the pass protection on that play. Were they out partying all week after the Clemson win? Seems eerily reminiscent of our "preparation" for Stanford following the big GTech win last year.
Perhaps the philosophy going forward is after a big win Fran comes in on Monday all piss and vinegar and busts their butts like they got pummeled. It's easier to get to the top than it is to stay there.

There’s a video somewhere of a furious Saban calling a timeout because he called nickel and his defense wasn’t in it. Which sounds reasonable, but notably they were way up and the game was in garbage minutes.

There’s no ‘off’ at the pointy end, no coasting.

I wish the issue was just complacency.

I think whether Schrader is good or mediocre is a matter of context.

Robinson/Schafer/Babers era expectations, he’s good, no doubt in my mind.

Pasquoloni/McPherson/Schwartzwalder eras, he’s probably a backup or a somewhat disappointing starter.

Despite recent setbacks I think the HCFB era will be firmly in the later camp. I appreciate what Schrader did for us and loved watching him play. But moving forward, he’s not the caliber we should be targeting either.
He would have been good enough to be a good starter on teams in between McPherson, Graves, and McNabb. He was no worse than Kevin Mason, who was solid. He was better than every QB between McNabb and Nassib, at least when he was healty. I think he stays healthier in those eras to.

I’m feeling more and more by the quarter that it was a “we named him the starter in spring and don’t want to completely disrespect him” thing because this wasn’t even a little close. 0 touchdowns in 8 quarters with Rickie. Unfortunately he is just not it. Treb was telling the truth. Imagine going from Kyle to this kid..

He's got all the physical tools but can't read the game. It's a shame.
I’m not impressed with anything he does. He’s just a bad player period. The Program should cut ties with him at half time. We have 10 points in the past 7 quarters since he took over. The END
There is no way the coaches are going to keep a better player from playing to hide them if winning is in the line. Heck, Fran called his FR OG a potential Top 10 pick. He ain’t insecure.
well then if he’s not better than this then they’re pretty bad at evaluating high school quarterbacks. I can’t believe Luke would be worse

Don't want to bash the kid, i'm sure he's trying his best. Chewing him out on the sidelines doesn't help. I'm second guessing the coaching in the summer saying this competition was even remotely close between the quarterbacks...

At the present moment. I think Trebor might be feeling he ended up in a lose lose situation. Allar either needs to turn this around quick or they are going to make a change.

All I will say (as a coach of a different sport in HS) what you say in public is not always what is actually the case. You always publicly back as many of your players as humanly possible.

But it is pretty clear so far that Rickie and Angeli were performing on two very different levels in actual games this season.

Losing a capable trigger man and turning to one of the weakest players of the position in D1 according to whatever publication that ranked him 64/68 is an incredible fall off for the offense as a whole. When the defense is acting like they can’t stop a nosebleed and every QB is carving us up, it’s a recipe for abject disaster.

Fran loyalty going to kill this team this season…. It’s carneys homecoming let the kid play let’s see what we have. This game was there for the taking there’s receivers open all day long smfh
I agree. When you see Willis putting his hands in his helmet after an overthrow by Collins to Gill for a TD. Frustration is setting in and Collins & Fran could lose the locker room.
