Not to compare Roberson to Jerami but they remind alot of each others freshmen years.
Jerami Grant is pretty special hes averaging 12.9 ppg right now. He had absolutely no isolation game last year, and still hasn't developed a pull up shot.
Alot of people on this board predicted Jerami would break out this year and be a stud. I am curious if those people felt that way because its what a nba scout said, or did they forsee something in his game. Was it his jumper or his dribble drive or both at the end of last year that made you feel that way?? Jerami went from having less offense then Rak last year to one of the better 6th men in the country. Hes came a Loooooong Way.
I don't see Roberson being quite as long or as athletic as jerami, but I see him being as aggressive as Jerami. I wonder if scouts and fans think both his isolation drive and jumper will both develop before he leaves syracuse. Personally, I have him chalked up in the jerami camp still as a unreadable freshmen. I know he was a much better shooter and drove nicely in traffic in high school. On top of that he had the ability to shoot a leaning and fadeaway midrange shot in highschool which is a nice and rare skill to have.
One other thing that stands out to me in Robersons case is he is shy and analytical on the court as a college freshmen. Somtimes players that put alot of time into the mental aspects of the game walk alittle slower then others before learning to run and becoming a team leader. Kinda like a Rautins, or or a Cooney,or a Scoop, or maybe even a Wes Johnson(in his year off). Curious if we will see that from Roberson or his ceiling will be a Jerami like 6th man before he goes.
