Feels like a Paul Harris-y situation at this point, no?

Kinda. Good point. Boy did he taper off... Never like to see that. He just has legit NOTHING offensively

I just don't know where you can go from here with him as a senior. I like him as a banger, but the results are so up and down. Not suggesting we can't use him, but hell, Paul's having a successful career in Europe still. Maybe the best for all parties.

He had one of the biggest plays of the game with the steal to tie it up.

That said, I agree. It's been tough the last month. My biggest issue with Tyler is when he leaves his side to try to block a shot. I like aggression, but he never gets the block, and the miss almost always gets put right back in.

The few times he had offensive touches today he actually was aggressive. But 2 times (once in each half) he got the ball stripped as he was going up.

I don't want him to leave honestly. At worst, I'd love him as an 8th man who can come in, rebound, and has 5 fouls to use. It would stink for him to bail and for ust o replace him with no one.

i like roberson alot, i just don't think he is quite big enough for his skill set. i hope he is back, but he seems kind of moody and i'm not sure how he we react with moyer's arrival and lydon's move to strictly forward, which i anticipate if coleman is back. either way, he played major minutes for two NIT teams in a row and he is owed nothing.

The steal was a gift to Roberson. He didn't show up...again. I think he tries but the past month has just been abysmal for him. I don't even notice him on the floor anymore. He's not really a banger either. I just don't think he is good at basketball. Like not good at all. Like I said he tries at times. The guy looked winded and was sweating hard mid 1H even. I don't know what happened. Or maybe he just is what he is...another overhyped Top 50 guy getting major minutes on a team that currently cannot afford to have no-shows.

People suggesting Roberson shouldn't come back next year are insane.

We already have Chino and Joseph occupying bench seats with zero production. We can't afford to jettison players that are at least serviceable.

Just for the record...I'm NOT suggesting he shouldn't come back...

I'm suggesting...he might want to look into it. I feel like JB might have already moved on from him in his head ala Harris.

rebounding is an integral part of the college game. equally as important as scoring really.
tyler roberson was our leading rebounder by a wide margin. not something you just dust off the shelf.

(paul harris also led us in rebounding by a wide margin)

Who is JB moving on to? I have high expectations for Moyer but I doubt he gets more than 10-15mpg next year.

Roberson has been wildly inconsistent game to game and even within games. That even goes for his rebounding. His rebounding stats are warped by a few monster games, notably the game at Cameron Indoor. He's just an odd player and as others have said, he plays smaller than his height. I think he will be back but may be passed over next year in the pecking order.

Roberson has had plenty of chances to make his mark; it just hasn't happened and I doubt it does next season.

Would be a huge blow, especially if he waits until May or June to announce limiting the options to fill his spot sans Thompson who the staff wants anyway. Depth is a blessing. Anyone is only a turned ankle away from being lost for several games.

RE: Jim wanting him gone, he better have a good plan unless there are divisive personal dynamics that would effect an addition by subtraction scenario.

Yeah, I want him back. Whether it be for depth, or whatever reason. I will never be able to figure this kid out, but you do see the skill come out at times, and maybe you strike gold. Either way, can't see a downside to him returning - I don't think there are any character issues there at all. Just seems like a very quiet, reserved kid that hasn't been able to put it together at this level.

yeah the all mighty oz head coaching strategy of public shaming has done wonders for his game. NOT.

This kid should be back next year. I don't expect JB to pursue any 5th year FAs and we need depth. Roberson isn't going to be drafted and plus I would like to see the kid get a degree.

We should not run him off as it obvious Kaleb Joseph will likely be gone so the staff will have 2 scholarships open for next year. Get another guard and another big.

He'll be a senior, and he'll start at the 4. It will be an embarrassment of riches at the forward spot next year compared to this squad. Coach's challenge will be to put him in spots he can thrive, and get him to bring it every night. When he doesn't, he'll get the quick hook and token starter minutes, like DC has been getting this year.

Sounds like at least according to JB he wasn't where he was supposed to be on the last play. Someone wasn't and I doubt it was cooney

Here is a novel idea. Play him when he plays well and sit him when he doesn't play well.... you know, like other teams handle their rosters.

Did anyone notice Dixon even changed up his starters for the second half? How many times has JB done that where it wasn't because of an injury or discipline issue.

I disagree. Moyer is going to play a lot. Like Lydon.

Honestly if it got us Thompson or another high level recruit I'd take it. Nothing more irritating than players that don't give a stuff

Does he get minutes at PF and SF?

I have high hopes for Moyer but I have a feeling Roberson and Lydon take up the bulk of the forward minutes. I see him getting Howard type minutes.

Moyer does have an opportunity to push into Roberson's minutes though.

Hope not. I'm sick of not even having the option of having depth.

Battle, Howard, Richardson, Lydon, Roberson, Moyer, Coleman, Chukwu...would be a nice 8 for next year.
