Roster & Needs As Of April 14...

How can our answer at point guard be a guy who averaged 8 and 4 at McNeese last year? Nait George averaged 11 and 5 against better competition (albeit with worse defense). Dual is a good bench piece, but we need more firepower at that position in the starting lineup.
Nate George was horrible. He had the most empty stats I have seen. In theory Dual will run the offense without turning it over. He will also play elite on ball defense on point guards which will improve the entire team defense. I think Dual is really coming in with a chip on his shoulder. He was a top 50 recruit who didn’t find the early success he most likely expected.

Who are they running the offense for? Doty? Sadiq White? The Temple guy? The team needs more firepower.

I like Dual as a player, especially on defense. On a good team at the top level, he is coming off the bench. If he's starting, we will be on the bubble at best. I don't think we will end up like the 7-25 Seton Hall team he started on, but the offense will struggle.

imo, tobiason and 3m will be our 2 leading scorers and both will do very well.

We need a lead guard and big better than what we have.

I’m not worried at all about the other spots.

Center I can even see us duct taping together with who we have and Sadiq in small ball (I don’t want that, but can see it).

But we have some work to do after starting out really well here. Think GMac will get it done, but can’t say I’m not worried.

We I expect get 75 pct of the way there and I think that’s more than enough. Worry is fair but we built most of the roster, have money and now get to finish strong to add 2-4 more vs trying to add 8 or 9.

I’ll eat crow if im wrong but the highly touted big gets from BH are going to flop when how bad their big man and bench situation plays out.

I’m cautiously hoping that 3M is going to have an instant impact. I know Givony is high on him. But do you feel the same from watching highlights of him and looking at stats?
i do, very much so. imo, he's a rare talent that can not only hit the open 3 but also create his own spacing with his moves and handle for a clean look.

White and Sibi at opposite ends of the press, with Dual, Tobiason and Doty in the middle could be really disruptive a few minutes a half.

One thing White does really well is harass the inbound pass.

I don't like him so much even as a small ball center. He's slight of build for a power forward, imo.

I think he is better than George. I’m good with him starting there being pass first and defense first guy.

would really love to see a scoring big man who can shoot and go 1 on 1

changes everything on offense and opens it up for the other players

would also like to see an actual PG and not a combo guard - who can dish, SHOOT 3s and play d

where is the 3pt shooting?? maybe a sharp shooter or 2?

and another PF in case white doesnt quite make the leap

I think we’re done guard shopping. I would not be surprised if we don’t see another European big.

If we were set to close on AW before UK went crazy to up their offer I can’t imagine we are just cutting bait and not staying in pursuit for other good options.

I’m not always sure if what we hear from people is really accurate. Freeman was supposedly a done deal with Kentucky, but now you hear SJU and Tennessee are in the mix. Things change quickly.

Yes, its good to remember that roster building is more of a moving target than its ever been. In the end its rerecruiting existing players, recruiting highschoolers and recruiting immediately eligible current college players with all the old school variables plus an actual $$$ offer upfront/out in the open and you have agents involved as well.

Keep in mind there were top 25 teams this year that didn’t sigh some of their top guys until May or June last year.

I believe it is a common misconception that the portal entry window is the signing window as well.

"Additionally, the portal will be open for 15 days from its onset, the shortest window for entry yet. (There is no deadline for a player to commit to a school after they enter the portal." Matt Norlander CBS Sports

With Freeman officially to Auburn, I think we're now in a critical moment for both lead guard and big.

I know there are always edge cases and outliers and inefficiencies to take advantage of, but I haven't seen anything that we've done to showcase that we'll solve some of our remaining issues that way.

I like GMac's staff. I like how he started his roster. I think Sadiq has a very high upside as a sophomore. I think Aiden will be very good. I think MMM is definitely worth being cautiously optimistic about.

But we seem to still have a bit to go. Dunno, hoping for the best.

We obviously desperately need a big. Clock is ticking.

Go get DIOP. Use some of Brewster, i mean GMACs Millions. Supposedly this hire was going to take us to the top 1/3 in NIL in ACC but I am not seeing it in the roster
