To me it’s pretty obvious Red still does not know a rotation as he is just throwing players in and out of the game. I think after two games is kinda obvious what players need to play in my opinion. This might be an unpopular opinion on my rotation but fire away on what you think

PG: Starling
SG: Bell
SF: Freeman
PF: Davis
C: Lampkin

Rotation:
Carlos: (he’s not a starting guard at this level but I think he’s a good back up)
Petar: I actually think he needs to play more. He’s heady, crafty, knows how to play and a decent defender. He’s a very good rotational player
Lucas or Moore: who ever is playing better that game and what we need matchup wise. Moore is better offensively. Lucas better defensively

Things need to be tweaked. Red has never been good with the rotation/subbing going back to last year which concerns me. Westry would be nice if he can get healthy but can’t count on him. McLeod and Cuffee shouldn’t be getting minutes. I dont necessarily love our bench tbh but our starters are pretty clear to me. I actually think Petar is probably our best player off the bench with this rotation

I would say that team couldn't handle the ball, but so what? The problem is, that starting lineup doesn't fix the almost hard to believe how bad defense we have. Honest, I have never seen a worse defensive team in MY long life. Do we even practice?

Yeah I ball handling might be an issue. Starling can handle it. Bell can help break a press and I think Davis can help out a bit there too.

That being said, this team has a lot of faults right now. No matter what starting line up you put out there, there is going to be a problem somewhere. But to me that line up gives us the most offense, strength, size, athleticism and rebounding

I'm not discounting doing anything at this point. We really could be 0-2 with home losses to LeMoyne and Colgate. I can't grasp it.

I would like to see that lineup and that lineup playing zone. Carlos gives us nothing and can just be flat dropped from the rotation. Moore can play backup guard.

No offense man but that’d be awful.

The ball handling would be atrocious. Any sort of ball pressure defense would destroy us.

Carlos can’t play 35mpg. But he needs to play 20. So does Choppa. I still have faith in JJ. Maybe Westry is a piece here too.

Bell can’t play the 2. Would be a disaster on defense too.

These are our guards and Red has to figure it out - but the answer is not moving Bell to the 2

I’m not sure if there’s a rotation solution that gets this team to a winning season.
I think once things settle in we can look a lot better.

It doesn't seem like we really know what we want to do with Freeman.

Need to figure out an actual guard rotation.

Need to find a defensive grouping that works.

I wonder if there’s a false sense of the defense being better than it is because they practice against subpar ball handling (and hands.). They’re probably great in practice smh. Just a thought.

We honestly stink. And we have a coach that doesn’t seem to have a clue about who to play. Just look at our team as a whole compared to other halfway decent teams around the country. We look like fans in the uniforms. I don’t want to hear that we always struggle with Colgate. This Colgate team stinks out loud. Drexel demolished them. Long, long year ahead. Still say McLeod needs minutes.

There may not be any answers.

Also, Lampkin is not in good enough shape to play more than 20 mins. Especially when we play some real teams and conference starts.

Texas and Tennessee are gonna be barn door affairs I fear...

Appreciate your optimism, but I wholly disagree.

This team doesn’t have the talent. Doesn’t appear to have the coaching.

Maybe we improve on the margins, but we haven’t even played a mediocre team yet.

I know I’ve been bearish on this team from the jump, but I’m still holding on that.

There are going to be teams that do layup lines on us and legit clown us.

I mean we've got a whole season left to play, it's up to the coaches and players to figure something out. There's time. No point in just quitting. If people don't want to tune in and watch it that's fine, we just have a lot of games. Let's roll the balls out and see what happens.

Starters wouldn't matter so much if we were to go back to running up and down the court.

Half court defense sucks, then sucks some more. No fast break as well.

So press(instill some energy in these kids), push the ball up the court and play em all. Get out of this half court offense and defense that we have sucked at for the last ten+ years, and get back to the days of running up and down the court. Open the game back up for these kids, use the supposed depth, give the Kyle Cuffes, Taylor's and others a 2-3 minute run here and there to give all the energy they got in the press, keep rotating Donnie, Davis and Petar and so on. Keep pressing. Frig, get Naheem in for a minute or two. Use Donnie at the 5 for a possession or two. Somebody gets hot, give them some extended run. The other team got to tire out and use their bench as well. Press the whole darn game.

We shouldn't have to worry about a tight or firm rotation against teams like Lemoyne, Colgate, and Youngstown St. These games should be about being flexible, going deep, still trying to finalize roles, and reasonably messing around with things

But unfortunately we are not good enough to be afforded those luxuries right now.

Starling on the point would be a disaster. He has more turnovers than assists in his career. He struggles to handle against pressure and looks like a poorer version of Mintz going to the hoop. I wouldn’t mind seeing Moore, but he’s never been a point.
