So true. Same reason the 1975 team was finally honored. Last year.Long overdue. Two great players that really should have been recognized years ago. There’s really only one reason why they weren’t.![]()
I don't mean to be completely clueless but I'm in the millennial generation. Is there a cliff notes on this besides the obvious that one person didn't want to do it?So true. Same reason the 1975 team was finally honored. Last year.
They played for Head Coach Roy Danforth.I don't mean to be completely clueless but I'm in the millennial generation. Is there a cliff notes on this besides the obvious that one person didn't want to do it?
You, and the other five people in the stands who are old enough to have watched them play, are going to be thrilled.Congrats to Rudy and Jimmy.
This honor is long overdue, especially for those of us who saw them play on the raised hardwood at Manley.
First live game I ever saw was with Rudy and Jimmy playing. JB would agree with you about the last sentence. He thought the everyone’s fandom started with Louie and Bouie because he was the coach. You, and the other five people in the stands who are old enough to have watched them play, are going to be thrilled.
Everyone else will be googling to find out who they are.
It is long, long, long overdue.
I was a little too young to remember that team. My fandom really started with Louie and Bouie.

How much of the $2.50 was donation versus the price of the ticket? It was a simpler time.
The freshman games, which were played before the varsity, were worth the price of admission, which at the time was $2.50 for GA. Let that sink in.

Mine was just a function of age.First live game I ever saw was with Rudy and Jimmy playing. JB would agree with you about the last sentence. He thought the everyone’s fandom started with Louie and Bouie because he was the coach.
Kimmel is gone? The worst food on campusLong overdue.
They were two years behind me and in those days, frosh basketball players lived in Marion or Kimmel. Can't remember which, but both dorms are now gone.
I knew a couple of guys who had been in my dorm and then moved to Marion/Kimmel. All around them were players' rooms. I used to hang there on occasion, and spent a little time with Rudy, the late Bobby Dooms, and Dennis Duval. All were great guys, and I especially liked Bob. Just a big, happy kid. Sweet D was great and very cool.
I recall Rudy as being very nice and on the quiet side. He was also the tallest person I ever stood next to at that point in my life.
Yeah, both dorms were torn down earlier this year if I recall. I was on campus in October and walked by there and...nothing left.Kimmel is gone? The worst food on campus
Dick, I lived in Watson as well. In 77 and 78Yeah, both dorms were torn down earlier this year if I recall. I was on campus in October and walked by there and...nothing left.
Fond memories of Jabberwocky, in the basement of Kimmel. Man, did I see some great artists there on their way to stardom.
My dining hall was in my dorm; Watson. Then, they got rid of the cafeteria and I ate in Kimmel for a semester before moving off campus.
We were in school at about the same time. Flint, Sadler, and South Campus last two years. Graduated in 1979.Dick, I lived in Watson as well. In 77 and 78
