Would be shocked if MacFarlane doesn't end up as an OLB. With a redshirt year, he should be able to pack on 15-20 lbs and begin to understand the Shafer blitz packages. He would be a freak, along with Lynch, on blitzes. He has the speed to cover a pretty good area in coverage as well. Shafer has to be stoked.

Lynch, Davis, and MacFarlane at LB? What a group that would be

If Davis can put on some weight and cut his missed tackles down that group could be one of the best we have had in a very long time. Plus they would have two years to play together. Would be great to see it happen.

I think one of the things that gets forgotten is that Davis had never played linebacker before last year. Most schools were looking at him as a WR or CB out of high school. He played safety at Milford two years ago. Davis was forced into action because of the actions of Cater and Hawkes. Davis made some great plays and some terrible plays last year. I would expect more good plays from him this year.

One look and you know that Davis is a player. The kid is jacked and has all of the natural tools to be special.
