Russell Maher '20, A, Mount Sinai (N.Y.) | Virginia Flipping from Syracuse to the Cavaliers in mid-October, Maher is a super-talented mid- and close-range scorer who almost always operates above the cage, similar to No. 1 Class of 2019 Wahoo signee Connor Shellenberger. Possessing a release that's hard for even the most talented goalies to pick up, he could score with guys draped all over him and shoots a heavy ball, with at least two instances where the goalie got a piece but it deflected in. Maher scored high after stepping away from his man from eight yards, an eye-popping individual effort or two and an easy finish from the hash. He loves rolling back to create space from his man and was great at using deception around the cage when finishing. Would imagine he'll be a swing guy in college who you can feel good about moving around in different sets.
