Same , different year

I literally cannot remember Cooney hitting a game winning/tying shot at the end of a game. There are definitely more than a few I remember him clanking. Hell, I can remember Terrence Roberts hitting a game winning shot in his career. Makes me miss a lead guard like GMac. I can remember at least 4 or 5 game winning/clutch shots he made over his career. Cooney is the anti-GMac when it comes to clutch shots.

Can you remember anyone on this roster that has hit a game winning shot at the end of the game?

G, against VaTech.

That's the closest and that wasn't a game winner at the end. It was a game tying shot with :35 seconds left. Couple more possessions after that even. But people talk like these game winning shots happen regularly. The opportunity rarely comes up and success even less for anyone.

That's definitely not the closest. Man, G had two HUGE shots against Va. Tech. They must have nightmares about that kid in the clutch.

I think he's referring to this probably, from 2015:

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Jim Boeheim has been coaching Syracuse for nearly four decades and thought he'd seen just about everything -- until his Orange's latest comeback victory.

Michael Gbinije hit a spinning floater in the lane with less than a second left to give Syracuse a 72-70 victory over Virginia Tech on Tuesday night.

Yes I forgot about the game last year. When he said VT I thought of the OT game this year. So that's 1. My point still stands. It's a rare occurrence to have that opportunity and success is even less.
