It's a pity we get the most coverage we've had in years just because we happen to run up against media-bloated ND. Don't get me wrong, I like their tradition and root for them against the FB powerhouses (the 'schools' that don't actually offer academic classes). But ND's hype is over the top -- way past the programs actual recent success. This was, of course, reflected in the pathetically-biased officiating .. SU whistled for repeated "holds" in the secondary with minimal contact, while Steve Ishmael is blown out of bounds on a fly route and all the ref' bothers to do is drop his hat (no flag). It was as amazingly one-sided as I anticipated.
Unfortunately, we wasted our small piece of ND's massive media pie by staging another mostly-ugly performance. Whenever our defense gave us a TO, our offense responded with it's favorite strategy -- shooting itself in the foot every time it got close to the red zone. On D, If I don't see another swing pass/bubble screen in my lifetime I won't be disappointed ... after that ball game. They literally threw the same outside pass over and over, all night -- and like many times before -- we gave up chunk gains. This is going to continue all year until the DC figures out what, or who, we use to defend it.
