Does this mean that they are in the portal? They;re usually good for some solid O lineman and a RB or two. :p

opting out of bowls...smart.

opting out of the season...not smart.

im looking at you 2x b1g

How many teams have to back out for us to become bowl eligible? ;-)

Honestly! BC is doing the right thing. Maybe we can just claim some extra practices.

Actually, all teams are bowl eligible this year. There is no minimum win amount for this season only

I honestly think this is just the beginning, I think you see the playoff games and a few other bowl games, Fiesta, Cotton, Sugar, maybe a few more.

Dump the bowls, keep the playoffs. There won't be fans, tourism, activities for players. Just let them go home.

Dump the 15 bowl practices, and just let the playoff teams have some to prepare (won't be the same timeline anyway given how late the season is going so it really will be game prep not development time).

Then everyone prepare for the spring, when hopefully the return to normal life will be beginning. May still have the protocols but they made it thru a season, they can certainly make it thru a spring practice session.

there really is no need for any other bowls this year.

with the title games on the 19th...and the NFL on the 26th & 27th, college can have some also ran bowls on New Years then the final 4 on 1/2.

When I first saw this, I thought they were clowns. Then you realize the players sequestered themselves, all year for the good of the team. (Did anyone at BC get covid?) Many avoided friends, families, and the things that make college, college.

Many schools didnt permit kids to see their families... Bowl games often take their Christmas. In the dumpster fire of a year that 2020 is? I think I love this. Instead of $$ and exposure? They gave the kids Christmas. Bravo.

The bowl practice season would have only been a week or so anyway with games going so far into December this year. Not worth keeping these kids on campus for a normal away game which is what this bowl season will be like. Let them go home and see family they haven’t seen in 6 months.

well i never my kid from august to dec either and she only say 3-4 friends in person outside of classes all yr and none without a mask except her 2 roommates.. lots of kids made the sacrifice.
These kids also got the snot pummeled out of the daily in addition to all their classes

and didnt spend 75K for remote classes either.
And a lot of people doing that didn’t have to worry about working in a pandemic. I did, I’m collegr age. You can always find someone in a worse position then yourself

Yepp. And she gets to come home for Christmas. Glad they extended that to the players. 2020 sucks. Instead of being home for 2-3 weeks, they get the full break. Can't think of anyone who wouldn't want a longer break from this dumpster fire of a year.
