Schools opting out of bowl participation (22)

In general they should dump the Bowls this year but I would like to see them somehow keep a few for each conference champ to be rewarded with a game at least. The non playoff teams. Maybe play games New Years Day involving:

B12 Champ
CUSA Champ
MAC Champ
MWC Champ
P12 Champ
Sun Belt Champ
At large

Bronco and our team captains seem to be making similar noises as BC and Pitt. In the discussions of it on the board, our fans don't seem like they'll be upset if the team decides to opt out as long as it is the team who decides to opt out and the decision isn't made for them.

Getting hung up on numbers at this point is foolish. We don't even know how many bowl games will be played, which means we don't know how many slots will be available. Not to mention, how many teams will be in a situation like Washington, with not enough healthy players.

Plus if Clemson and Notre Dame make the CFB.

With 5 ACC opting out Boston College, Pitt, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Georgia Tech leaves 10 teams for 8 bids.

If 2 more ACC teams opt out we could Theoretically go to a bowl at 1-10.

Based upon all of the opt-outs, it seems as though more than a few teams have had enough, and just want the season over. I would think SU is near the top of that list.
