Schools opting out of bowl participation (22)

Since we are not in the opt out list, can we say we accept any ACC affiliation bowl bid if no one wants to go? I see Pitt, BC, Virginia are in opt out list. Neither Wake Forest nor Miami. UNC are going to Orange Bowl. NC State are going to Gator Bowl.

Not sure but I cannot see us accepting a bowl in the unlikely event one is offered, we were hanging by a thread pretty much all season

Other than the four play off teams or the bowl occurring in the schools home state not sure why anyone would go this year. No fans or parents. Lots of money to go with minimal return.

At this point, with the team most likely off and not practicing for a couple of weeks it would be really hard for me to imagine that we'd jump in...
It also wouldn’t be a great decision. Congrats your 1-10 and in a bowl game... but yeah Logistical issues aside.

Really too bad. Bowl season is fun, granted I don’t watch most. How many will we even have this year?

Even if a team replaces a team opting out at this point that team wouldn’t get the number of practices one normally gets for a bowl, right?

Would be a really bad look if Cuse said yes. Furthermore, I don’t think they will say yes.
I think had the Pinstripe Bowl or the Fenway Bowl survived, and we could have bussed to and from the game, we might have done it. That would keep expenses down and not cost SU even more money they cannot afford to lose this season.

Between the cost of going to a bowl game and the extension of personal sacrifices the players would be asked to make, it just is not worth it for many programs. I am honestly surprised how many schools are actually willing to play in these games.

I mean I know we won’t accept a bowl bid.

But at this point if you did, think of the extra practices they could get. Play all the true freshman and give them experience. Might be worth it for some teams.

Like I said, I know we won’t and I don’t mind any of these teams deciding not too

Would love go play army like January 2nd at the Military bowl, could bus down... once again I know would love see us play not sure about players... that is all
