Sean Tucker merchandise

How about a jersey with the number 44. I'd buy a couple.

So you won’t support Tucker’s NIL arrangement by purchasing a #34 jersey cause it’s not #44?

With support like that, don’t be surprised if our young studs jump into the portal and look for another school where they can capitalize on their NIL opportunities.

I agree, the whole point of this thread is let’s support Sean in hopes he stays. But I think Nicknack is just saying that it would be awesome if he had #44. I’ll support Sean either way.

35 as soon as it comes out. 44 if and when it happens.

Syracuse needs to wake up and realize they will become a feeder program if opportunities are not developed for a young player to capitalize on NIL. Other programs, and the communities that support them, are killing it; U Miami every player $500/month, Alamaba QB $1mil In endorsements? All while I hear stipends for scholarship players at Syracuse are being reduced.

if we can’t support Sean Tucker, who will we suooort?

Think you meant to type 34 but I definitely agree with what you’re saying.

Spencer Rattler makes $750k annual on endorsements. It's also said some of the kids from these blue blood schools make up to a million a year. The University, specifically the football program, hopefully has some sort of guidance or a way to help these kids get deals. We have a heisman contender at RB at Syracuse. Tucker should be killing it. It will be a shame if we don't see him doing any commercials this winter. Not to mention another factor that will be used negatively against us in recruiting.

Exactly, let’s step up and support Sean. We can’t compete against the real big schools but we can keep it respectable. Tucker, if he stays healthy, is NFL bound. SU can get him there just as much as anyone else. Let’s buy his merch and support him.

Does that include the 2 cars he got?

I wonder if these large NIL deals and access to large sums of cash while still in college is negatively impacting player performance?

Look at Clemson QB and Rattler. Nearly a million dollars in endorsement before the season, and both have looked nothing like they did before they had the money.

I think some of these kids might lose their drive and focus after they get some $$ in their pocket

Nope those were just throw in's. I read the list of endorsement's he has and it was unreal. That dealership was one of them. I bet they feel burned right now. You would think this would make these businesses think twice, but i'm sure they won't. Imagine if a local company invested in Devito. I bet they would feel they didn't get their monies worth.

Huh??? Who said that? Good grief, talk about jumping to your own conclusions.

Settle down. He said nothing of the sort.

and I remember people trying to argue with me this type of thing wouldn’t happen and it would actually level the playing field. This isn’t rocket science. The donor that gives Texas hundreds of thousands (or more) in support can now help with signing HS kids by offering them marketing deals at their business.

This is actually why I think it levels the playing field. Donors aren’t going to give the 3rd string qb that also happens to be a top 100 recruits 4 star a huge NIL deal. That kid will most likely look at a smaller market where he can earn value. Go to blue blood and waiting your turn has a short term financial impact now. Mid tier schools weren’t getting elite level recruits anyway. It’s about not letting blue bloods stock pile talent in the depth chart.

schools cannot play a role in deals. They can do everything but and those things we are doing. And the few kids getting a million dollars are few and far between.

Syracuse also has a very progressive program aligned to guide and create NIL opportunities for athletes. We are not behind here. That said, will be hard for our "stars," to match the stars at Bama, OK, OSU, etc. Just bigger populations.

Not sure I agree. The 3rd QB at Alabama might be the guy they’re expecting to start in a season or two. They don’t want to lose him to the portal. These guys will throw $ around even if there’s no real value for their business. They want to see Alabama, Texas, etc win. They understand the importance of depth. So I don’t see this benefiting schools like SU in any way. It’s just going to make that gap bigger.

We can't compete with that. The closest we have is #44. Giving it to Tucker(deserved) would be the best way to be competitive in NIL, while honoring tradition, and bringing national attention to our history.

Some will buy a 34 jersey. An I am pleased with my performance 34 shirt. MANY more, including casuals, may be inclined to buy a Tucker 44. Its not just about him.

He may still choose 6 figures and a car. I'd rather he had the opportunity to chose a Jersey that he's EARNED.

No conclusion drawn. It was a question. Note the question mark. Your post states you would buy a couple jerseys if it was #44. Tucker's not selling #44 jerseys. Tucker has indicated he will be selling #34 jerseys. Your post does not indicate any support for a #34 jersey. Feel free to clear that up.

My closing remark is simply that I think we are in trouble if we don't support the NIL opprtunities our players can get going.

Let’s not fight guys. Seems like a simple misunderstanding. Let’s all buy the #34 Tucker jerseys, and if it winds up being a #44 Tucker jersey, even better. Though my wife ain’t gonna let me buy both, lol.

That is about as clear of a conclusion as one could make (highlighted in orange since apparently you struggle with reading comprehension). You're really looking like a damn fool here, but carry on if that gets you going.

Interesting. I didn't realize the school couldn't be involved. Any idea how these deals are made? It's not like the athlete has a manager or agent. Do they just contact the player directly ?
