I think VA Tech is a better team than Pitt. So it will be a huge challenge. We need an answer for a real D. That being said they are the last real D we will face for the rest of the year.

If we win we could still have a special season. If we lose things can go downhill fast.

BC will want that game bad and will surely out coach us. Cal is cross country. UConn we will be spent physically from travel and they want that one badly. Plus there is no doubt we overlook them.

We will see how tough this team is and what the coaches are made of. I still think it could be a special season but it all starts next game.

We should outscore BC, Cal, UConn. They are all closer to NC State than they are UNLV, let alone Pitt. Anything can happen against Miami. Especially if they are looking ahead to the ACC CG.

I’ll still watch every minute of every game because I’m a diehard Orangeman, but to me it’s not a special season if you are out of playoff contention in October.Bowl games today just don’t do it for me.Being a Cuse fan I probably should not have such expectations but to be special I need to be in contention for a spot in the playoffs.

I go into every single fall chasing a special Syracuse football season. Conference title, playoff appearance, something like that.

Always really, really sucks when the nail is officially put in the coffin on that dream. I will still be at every home game having fun but the worst loss of the season is always the one that kills what I really want from my favorite thing.

If a playoff existed back then those years we don't make the playoff. And what about 2018?

Using the playoff as a metric means SU has had only 2 special seasons in the Dome era.

There are no guaranteed wins or losses on our schedule.
Mccord can win every game or lose every game.
Our defense is good enough, we need elite Mccord. We need zero penalties that erase game chànging plays. We need to have confidence that we can make a 40yd FG. We need to make adjustments in game. We need to have some sort of a running game. Thats all.

I think this game was just a bad matchup for us and they gameplanned well to their strengths & our weaknesses.
Coaching experience is so valuable. Our coach is gaining that experience, he is a quick learner, able to pinpoint weaknesses and certainly not afraid to utilize his mentors for help that happen to be among the best in college football.

Im trying to be patient durîng this modern day Syracuse football. For once I truly see the vision for our future. For once I truly feel there is a plan and that plan is acheivable. For once I truly feel we have the right coach and leadership. Because of all of that l for once think its necessary to be a patient fan ànd when our time finally comes we all will be very well rewarded. And deservingly so.

Games like this are what concerns me about Fran. It was basically Narduzzi/DC vs J
Nixon. Not sure how much input Fran has schematically or into the game plan at whole, but Narduzzi and their DC ate our lunch. No adjustments were made. We knew they were going to blitz and blitz often. Wouldn’t mind seeing more max protect sets. But what ultimately killed us is our lack of a running game and that’s just not having the personnel on the OL. Hopefully these large men we are bringing in can play because OL has been an issue for years, and as much as i respect LQA, he just doesn’t have that burst or wiggle.

I haven’t been this disappointed in a game in a long time. 5 int’s by arguably one of the top QB’s we’ve ever had. This compounds the pick 6 that ultimately cost us vs Stanford. If we’re not going to win now. When will we win? Will be interesting to see if Fran can continue to improve the overall talent level.

Record no. Some stat rankings have VA Tech ahead. IMO VA Tech's A game is way better then Pitt's A game. The problem is VA Tech often brings their C game while Pitt has been near A all season. I still think Pitt ends with 3 Ls this year.
