Why do I get the feeling that the name Penn State is deeply rooted in this whole thing? I think it was revealed back during the ND to ACC, UMD to BiG fracas that the Pres of UMD spilled the beans to Delaney about Swofford's secret courting of PSU after getting ND onboard. And for that backstabbing UMD received assurance they would be thrown a financial lifeboat. Am I wrong about that?

The only school in the b1g who would be courted by the ACC or anyone really...is the ped st nambla lions.

And they should do it.

Well, speaking as a lawyer, you have to request documents that are relevant to a particular issue, that the production request is not overbroad and burdonsome on the other party. On the face it, this has to be a reporter characterizing the subpoena, not a spokesman reciting what it actually says. Or else this would not be enforceable at all; it's overly broad.

I agree, the reporter's version is over broad on its face. However, having been through this type of delaying action many times, the initial requester uses the over broad request as a means of instigating a fight as a delaying tactic, knowing they will not get the over broad request approved, but will trim it down to what the court will accept. This fight alone can delay the over action by several months.

How much longer before we see that Maryland is going to challenge SU's claim to be NY's college team? I'm sure Rutgers has all kinds of misinformation ready for them once they do.

I always hoped the ACC would wrap up the east coast, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois...

Would the arguments be that Northwestern would be a travel partner for ND, Another private school, and Illinois would add massive amount of TV?

And let's not forget that Gross said he wants to be in more major markets, Chicago may be small town to NYC, but it's pretty big to everyone else.
