Probably the blue blood offers? What changed? The recent losing streak? Uncertainty surrounding JB?
Just a guess.

But it is kinda like he did. He had us down for a visit this weekend at the WF game with younger brother and parents and then just canceled and going to UCLA to a visit when he probably been there a half dozen times. By the way I'm a salty kinda guy.Eh, I mean, thats nice, but you cant get all salty when a kid doesnt commit. Its not like he committed to us and bailed at the last moment.

Especially when current top 10 programs are callingThis kid's future is on the line - we have a team that it totally lost - a coach that is totally lost - he would be delusional to come here
Our program is a complete mess thats what changed. What changed? The recent losing streak? Uncertainty surrounding JB?
Ok Kansas fan move to yourEh, Syracuse is probably the program that has to pay more. Worse coach (regardless who it is), worse facilities, worse conference, worse weather...
At least they’re in the process of finding something new and replacing the old.Well Notre Dame was never prominent so that’s unlikely. As for Louisville, really? You think a first time head coach with a 3 win team is on pace to turn that program around before Syracuse? What a joke
I hear ya. You never know with this recruiting stuff. I do think SU is running third at this point, but March 7 is a few days away.So if we are essentially #3 without a shot, why announce a top 3? Just say it’s KU vs ucla and call it a day.
A multitude of factors. What changed? The recent losing streak? Uncertainty surrounding JB?
That's true. However, his visit to SU on March 4 would have been an unofficial. His visit to UCLA is an official (and yes, he's been to UCLA before). I do agree, though, that not getting his parents on campus this weekend was a bad indication of where things stand with SU. I actually think Kansas is No. 1, followed by UCLA at No. 2.But it is kinda like he did. PreachThe program is a mess and has been.
If you can’t or haven’t seen that, you aren’t aware of the reality.
As I posted after the GT loss, we are the joke. We aren’t in on the joke, we are the joke.
We are degrees away from UCLA and Kansas.
Yes, however the fact that we can still be bridesmaids many times over, still shows that the Syracuse "brand" still has some gravitas in the basketball world. Pretty good prospects will put us in their final three or final five, but then ultimately pass. With the right hire, hopefully the rebirth of Cuse Nation will be fairly immediate. The program is a mess and has been.

Always have been, Syracuse is a great program, but they’re not on Duke, UNC, Kentucky, UCLA and Kansas’s levelThe program is a mess and has been.

Except those aren't the only schools we lose recruits to these days...Nice try. And believe it or not we have beat Kansas and UCLA for recruits before when JB was in his heyday.Always have been, Syracuse is a great program, but they’re not on Duke, UNC, Kentucky, UCLA and Kansas’s level
I’m not saying they are, but I’m not going to flip a table over losing to Kansas and UCLA. Disillusioning yourself into thinking Syracuse actually competes with them, even in the best recruiting years, is setting yourself up for disappointment.Except those aren't the only schools we lose recruits to these days...Nice try.
We stink. That's why we have no shot. It has nothing to do who's involved. We obviously had the talent to beat Kansas in some pretty big games in program history. Things have changed.I’m not saying they are, but I’m not going to flip a table over losing to Kansas and UCLA.
Having the talent to beat a team and having the prestige to out recruit are two very different things. You don’t need top 5 classes to beat the blue bloods, but they’re getting those top classes every year because they have next level prestige. We stink. That's why we have no shot. Well Payne may not be there for long and they might then go get a head coach with actual head coaching experience sooner than we think.Well Notre Dame was never prominent so that’s unlikely. You might want to look at the rosters or Kansas and UCLA. They aren’t exactly stacked with top 20 players as their man contributors.Having the talent to beat a team and having the prestige to out recruit are two very different things. You don’t need top 5 classes to beat the blue bloods, but they’re getting those top classes every year because they have next level prestige.
As far as “we have no shot” I mean, it’s clear he had interest in going to Syracuse at one point in time that interested shifted because top programs came in. You don’t turn those down. If he ends up going to providence, then I’ll be upset.
Simple as this: they are in a far worse position than Syracuse. It’s hard to comprehend how anyone would disagree with that.Well Payne may not be there for long and they might then go get a head coach with actual head coaching experience sooner than we think.
