Class of 2023 SF Marcus Adams (CA) Offered

This is the norm unfortunately until we get our dumpster fire under control on and off the court (coaching announcement/direction). I am not surprised by this development, but im also not really disappointed. I would rather have Adam W. spend some money getting a good plug and play portal kid next year. We have enough youth (if some of them hopefully stay). We need a proven commodity to come in and fill some of the huge holes were gonna have

You might want to look at the rosters or Kansas and UCLA. They aren’t exactly stacked with top 20 players as their man contributors.

We stink and JB can’t recruit anymore.
Kansas hasn’t had a class outside the top 25 in nearly a decade. UCLA has improved their ratings every year under Cronin as they return to form. I’m not sure what your argument is, should Syracuse be beating out Kansas and UCLA for players? When was the last time that happened? I’m upset about losing players to UConn and Marquette, but you’re playing with one hand tied behind back trying to go after Kansas, Duke and UNC players. (Frankly I’m not sure if Syracuse has enough of a presence on the west coat to fight UCLA particularly often)

Google is your friend. Kansas won the National Title with one top 50 player in their rotation last year. You shouldn’t even be including them with Duke and UK. The same goes for UCLA.

We stink at recruiting. We don't win enough games.

We had better rosters than Kansas when we beat them in 03 and 09. Our talent has gone in the toilet because we can't recruit.

Stop making excuses.

Having the talent to beat a team and having the prestige to out recruit are two very different things. You don’t need top 5 classes to beat the blue bloods, but they’re getting those top classes every year because they have next level prestige.

As far as “we have no shot” I mean, it’s clear he had interest in going to Syracuse at one point in time that interested shifted because top programs came in. You don’t turn those down. If he ends up going to providence, then I’ll be upset. Judah had interest in going to Pittsburgh, then he shifted to Syracuse. It happens.
I don’t understand “you don’t turn those down”. Why not?

It's nice to see, but you only get so much credit for making someone's top 3 or top 5 if they don't ultimately commit (and keep their commitments). And your staff needs to be able to develop talent, which we don't do well enough.

Kansas gets better talent than most, but what puts them over the top is their ability to turn lesser recruits like Devonte Graham, Frank Mason and Ochai Agbaji (and maybe Jalen Wilson this year) into All-Americans. It's a very high bar, but that's the game.

People forget that Kansas is still in a probational period and they already have 1 5 Star and 2 4 Stars for 2023 commits

If Adams is visiting UCLA this weekend and then announcing his decision on Tuesday, I assume he commits to UCLA. Hard to see someone taking a visit and 2 days later announcing for a different school. That's just poor.

How is that poor? He’s taking visits to the schools he is interested in and then making a decision. Seems like he is making an informed decision to me.

Should we diagram this one out?

UCLA
Hometown, legendary program, current No. 4 in the country whose head coach is 52, in his 4th year at the program, and has already notched a conference championship and a F4.

Kansas
Arguably the No. 1 program in the country, defending national champs,, currently ranked 3rd in the country, HC just won his 17th conference championship, and can reasonably be expected to coach the next 5-6 years.

Syracuse
Top-ten all time program, hasn't been ranked in conference play in 9 years, has a two game losing streak to Colgate, HOF head coach will be 78 and probably won't coach next season.

Sounds all good. To me!!!

Yes, however the fact that we can still be bridesmaids many times over, still shows that the Syracuse "brand" still has some gravitas in the basketball world. Pretty good prospects will put us in their final three or final five, but then ultimately pass. With the right hire, hopefully the rebirth of Cuse Nation will be fairly immediate.
The brand was dollars

He saying you don’t block the girl 2 days after a sleepover. Poor form

Seriously this is the a bad take. He is taking last OV to ucla this weekend and will have concluded the three OVs to his top 3 schools and he feels that he will be able to make a decision by Tuesday. Doesn’t sound odd to me. Sounds pretty damn good smart to me for a kid who wants to end the recruiting BS. Pick his school and move on.

Maybe he will commit to kansas for his frosh year and then commit to ucla for his soph year and if hes no good, he can come to cuse for his junior year :) With the portal. Anything is possible.

Bingo, you could ignore the coach AND Colgate and you’re still light years behind

You spend to much time playing video game.DW
I wish that was true! I wish I could get into video games like used to. But my point stands. Kids trying to make the NBA will do what they think is best. As Syracuse fans we’ve been on both sides of these. Can’t blame the kids for doing what they think is best, and it’s ridiculous to get mad like they owe US something.
