Class of 2025 SF Shon Abaev (FL) Offered

That's fine. He seemed like the one who couldn't fit with Anthony and Constanza. Hope we get the other guys. Abaev has a game that reminds of Manu Ginobli. Maybe not the right fit for us, with the other guys we are recruiting.

Was about to post the same thing. That Top 5 means he’s probably getting a nice sized bag.
With Arkansas involved, $$$ will be large.

Incidentally--and this is not sour grapes--I was not as impressed with Abaev as with some of the other SF's we were recruiting. In his highlights he seemed to be consistently forcing (albeit often making) tough shots. He especially has a habit of falling away as he shoots, making the attempt more difficult than it needs to be. I flashed on his being a taller version of Mintz.

I kind of feel the same. From the few highlight clips that I saw, it seem like Shon had to have the ball. Granted it has been reported that he is like a point forward. I took it mean one of two things. 1) The offensive plays usually went through him either touching or creating. 2) As an integral part of his team, he took the lead in the offensive and created opportunities for his teammates. Nothing bad with either and he is a good player but play in college can be different and lend to offensive sets where he is not the primary ball handler.

Bad choice. Another case of putting NIL money over a school that can get you prepared for the NBA.
Respect to Buddy and Cole for hanging around the NBA fringe. Who successfully have we put in the NBA for any extended period since Jerami Grant? Ennis a little bit, but no one else. Track record for producing NBA players for Syracuse is basically none for the last ten years.

Two (related) questions:

1) How did UC become a Jordan Brand school before us?
2) Do they have a better NIL game than us? If so, how?
Cinci was a Jordan Brand school in the late 90's/early 2000's initially, before switching to other brands and then returning back to Jordan.

If they are paying what Shon's camp is asking for (bag chasers), I will assume they have a better NIL budget than us. Our NIL budget heading into this season wasn't amazing (probably only like $2-$2.5M). I hope Kline and co have been fundraising hard. Think this offseason is going to be crazier than last, in terms of pricing.

Lots of P&G executives in the area.
