Class of 2020 SF Tyon Grant-Foster (KS) Portal to Gonzaga

I would hope to see Donnie become that. He is better than Kingz and JJ. George is the glue and makes everyone better optimally.
He’s not. If he was he would have been an initial push to add when the portal opened. He had worse numbers than JJ in a worse conference.

He shot 15-57 and 4-25 against power conference teams.

Kingz shot 20-43 and 8-19 against top competiton.

He’s still positively impacting the game by getting to the line all the time and defensively. He's a better ball handler and initiator as well.

I don't want to see Donnie as purely a SF this year. I want him to play inside out, and do regular damage inside the arc. That's what we need from him to be good. Kingz is the stand still shooter, and a great one. If you are going to have 3 point shooters surrounding the arc, you have to have someone you can throw the ball to inside.

I meant become the guy that is counted to score the bigger buckets, play is drawn up for him and becomes go to scorer. Want to see him at PF/C

Grand Canyon was also better than us
real and true GIF

He was so good 2 years ago:

WAC Player of the Year
WAC Tournament MOP
17 20+pt games
22 vs St Mary’s and 29 vs Bama in the tournament

This year his numbers were down across the board. He was playing well in conference then got hurt and missed 5 games. He had a few games earlier in the year that he really struggled in - 2/17 vs Georgia, 1/8 vs Louisiana Tech, and 1/8 against StLouis. Those were his 3 worst games of the year and they all came within 8 days of each other. He was pretty efficient for the most part for the rest of the year

This kid is already 25, I would think he would at least expect to start . JJ and him starting st the 2/3 would hurt our shooting

He won't start here.

TGF is a millions times better than Agee. And would likely be our go-to guy when it matters. He was banged up last yr. He was a star two yrs ago.

Fits the profile - measured just under 6-6 with nearly a 7' wing span at the NBA Draft combine last year. Athletic, tough, skilled, 2-3 swing, good defender. He has been in the portal since April 7. Michigan St was the early favorite. Not much "smoke" around this guy with known visits. I wonder if medical is a concern.

Not even close. Dude’s efficiency is awful.
Too many bad three point attempts, and loves to spin around and shoot lousy fade away jumpers when he can’t get all the way to the basket.

He’s another mid major that could really benefit from shot selection discipline and better talent around him.

But he’s a great shotblocker from the small forward position, and another threat to drive and dish. With Souare, Kyle and White on the team, he could get a lot of assists instead of missed shots. Some of his highlights were painful from a basketball IQ perspective, even the ones that went in were bad shots.

are we even connected to Agee or is just one poster bringing him up in every post?

So, with Foster, Agee and any others, does anyone really know who is interested in Syracuse and whom Syracuse is interested in?

He was one of my favorite players to watch in the NCAA tournament 2 years ago, and was getting NBA buzz before last season. I remember him taking the ball up at least a few times and sort of acting like a point-forward. I'd love this pickup in hopes we can get him back to his form from 2 years ago

Looks like he started following Kline and Kiyan recently on Instagram. Does it mean anything? I have no idea.
The Kline follow is what introduced the thread, the Kiyan follow is new and at a minimum, that’s interesting. I doubt it’s just coincidental that he decided today to follow Kiyan…Kiyan could also learn from Foster Grant and then be ready to go next year so it would be important to get the two on the same page….all speculation but where there is smoke, there has been fire with the Instagram followings this portal season

Would be a huge splash at this point in the cycle. We need this guys defense on the floor.

I think his following Kiyan ( and Carmelo Anthony) came before he started followed Kline, not sure how far before, but before. Perhaps he was recommended to Kline to take a look at by either Kiyan, Melo or both of them. Either way, it does seem promising!
