Class of 2020 SF Tyon Grant-Foster (KS) Portal to Gonzaga

I think his following Kiyan ( and Carmelo Anthony) came before he started followed Kline, not sure how far before, but before. Perhaps he was recommended to Kline to take a look at by either Kiyan, Melo or both of them. Either way, it does seem promising!

It’s fun to speculate but I have a hard time believing there would be genuine interest here with the roster as it stands. It doesn’t make sense for this kid to be a 15 mins per game at most player or to push Donnie into starting at center for a kid like this to start. It’s fantasy roster building as a fan but can’t see with the likely price tag and role this being a real option. That’s just my opinion anyway.

Just curious, so if Deng or Valencia committed here would they also be 15 minute at most guys? Especially in Deng's case, it seems he would have gotten at least 20min, if not a little more. If there was more time for these players, perhaps there would be more minutes to be had for someone else?

Of the players that have been mentioned currently, I'd prefer Agee due to his efficiency and 3pt%, but Foster would be a great pickup as well, especially from the defensive side. He would hopefully be more efficient offensively with better players surrounding him and less pressure to be the main guy like he was for Grand Canyon.

Red wouldn't be pursuing another player if he didn't feel a need. The team is trying to get more athletic and with a deeper bench. Who knows how he is trying to sell this. there seems to be a lot of discussion about minutes distribution. Things happen every season and Red will figure it out. At the worst these incoming transfers are one year rentals. I can see a player who has played in the lowest levels of D1 would love the opportunity to become at worst a rotation piece in a big time program that also will reward him with more $$$ than he has ever played for.

Both of them maybe up to 20 but neither as starters. Kids like this one and Agee to me you bring in as starters or at least that’s the expectation. Seems we ran into Deng and Valencia wanting to be starters anyway.

True, although I think Red has proven to be an at least adequate recruiter, he is not a snake salesman like some coaches are.
In addition to the likelihood that he does not have the most money. This will leave us behind and I am ok with that. We need to coach up&develop better than most is all.
Need to be very good talent evaluators&matchmakers. Chemistry builders. Motivators. 3D ,
We also really need Reds OFF&DEF philosophies to come to fruit. These players coming in are a match for that...for once.
I believe.
Given circumstances IMO, this will be his first year to really show what he is all about.
I believe...
and we will achieve.

That's funny, I didn't think they got that much sunshine in the Pacific Northwest.
