i know its a highlight tape, but he did a lot of good things in that video. i especially like his body control in the lane. like doty, he sometimes looks like he's off balance but manages to get off a clean shot for a score.

i won't be totally shocked if he and 3m start at the 2/3 or at least play together a lot.

There are a LOT of accounts like this in European soccer and NFL Draft ramp up. It's hyperbole for engagement and money, and now they're getting more clicks.

I'm excited about this kid but you don't have to go over the top.

I forgot about this tidbit in my write up above. One thing I liked about Tobiason is that he moves around a lot like the Sharpshooters from SU from years ago… Guys like Rautins, Cooney, Nichols, Southerland, White and, to a lesser extent, Buddy, Devendorf and Girard were notable, not merely because they made the three-pointers, but also for the before the pass movement that they used to get open for the three-point shots. Of course, GMAC would be the poster child for using screens and off ball movement to get open looks at the basket.

Tobiason showed some examples of that movement. A few times, he wasn't even using formal screens, just game action in the paint to get open. It was fun to watch extended possessions from Temple game footage that ended in a Tobiason open three.

The other thing I forgot to mention is that after he makes a three, Tobiason makes hand gestures that look like a combination of the symbol for "three" in American sign language and a frat boy saying "smell my finger."

The play I always remember, but not the game Flynn has the ball on the left side, Devo is up top and Andy is coming off a screen on the left. Flynn passes the ball to Devo who just without catching the ball directs it to Andy for a wide open 3. I miss those type of plays.
Impossible to defend when players play that way.

Tobiason definitely adds some athleticism to those positions.

So everyone liked Elijah Hughes his last year here right? Tobiason and Hughes have a lot of similarities and in my opinion the closest comp.

Similar heights, bodies and length.
Similar athleticism. Similar strengths and weaknesses.
Very similar play styles. Hughes was a little bit better of a shooter. But they are very comparable players

I am not in a place to look it up but if I remember correctly one of the knocks on Hughes coming from ECU was his shooting he was like under 30% or something bad if I remember correctly.

Yup. Hughes had similar knocks as Tobiason. Hughes was not known as a shooter and more of a slasher. He got to Cuse and by his last year here he was a complete offensive player and extremely efficient. Tobiason has similar potential. Very comparable players

Yes, and he did shoot well from 3 a couple years ago.

Didnt Tobiason shoot like over 40% from 3 his freshman year? I expect him to be able to shoot from deep. When Hughes came, I didn't expect much from 3, Hughes adding the 3 point to his game when he came here is what elevated him.
