Good question I’m not sure. I also was just speculating given his recent very pro orange X activity. I do think his fiancé/wife is from Europe so wasn’t expecting he would be in a rush but who knows.

The Doty/Carlos comparisons here and on th main are crazy - even Red admitted they panicked and didn’t do a great job being ready for the portal the first time and Carlos fell in their lap.

GMac has veen around Doty as a coach the last 2 years and just hearing what GMac says about the kid……. No expectations of first team all ACC or anything but the toughness, hustle and attitude and being able to show these other guys what GMac expects and the standard. It will be very valuable.

This was sort of my gripe on a separate thread. All of a sudden Doty is coming here, starting and we are focusing our offense around him? I mean the portal hasnt even opened yet for gods sake. Lets see how it plays out before we start complaining

I’m not sure that the plan is to focus our offense around him, and hopefully not any one player. Unless we have Cam Boozer, would be nice to have a good variety of offensive options.

Correct. Moore was exactly the same as Doty...4 star rated 92 and ended up as 167th ranked transfer

One thing about Doty. He impresses me as the kind of kid that is going to work very hard at his game over the summers that he is with us. That hasn't been true of all of our guys over time.

Based on potential from there high school scouting reports. Guys like Doty rating is based on production. That’s what the GM and HC has to balance when deciding who to take and if you take both the production and potential player, what each should be guaranteed in salary.

I think he played 1 game before he left the team for "personal reasons"
