Melo has eligibility left. I've argued for years that players in good academic standing with eligibility left ought to be able to come back and earn their degrees and play for the school team. Maybe Melo would want to play with his son, as Lebron does. Sigh...

I believe eligibility starts from enrollment. For Melo, he had 5 years from them to play 4 years. Eligibility doesn’t toll because you left school.

While Kiyan is a very good player, I hope he doesn't feel too much pressure to live up to what Melo did. Literally nobody comes in and wins a title as a frosh, or else Calipari would still be at Kentucky, with half a dozen trophies in his cabinet.

I think the biggest thing for Syracuse is that Melo is probably going to make sure we have enough NIL money to surround his son with good players. Red has already shown he can recruit. Now, we need to go out and buy a really good center in the portal, and probably another PG so all the pressure is not on the Aussie frosh, and we look pretty good next year.

I agree. Could be nothing but if Melo and family are that concerned so quickly that he would decommit I think it's pretty obvious sign of the hard truth.
