Class of 2025 SG Kiyan Anthony (NY) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (11/15/24)

Really happy to see him and cheer, but we were all kind of looking around like 'oh are we supposed to stand maybe? are other people standing?'

In hindsight it's unfortunate it was a game without the student section/cheerleaders/dancers to hype him up more.

Kiyan is more skilled than any guard currently on our roster. He just needs to get stronger. Teams will play hI’m physical until he shows he can handle it.

Everyone seems to think we have limited NIL funding. This year shows that we should target quality rather than quantity.
We also need to have a roster of 10-12 players. Four portal guys are leaving with four coming in. I’m sure there will be some players leaving too.

Need to temper expectations. Kiyan is not Carmelo. Carmelo was a generational talent, physically and mentally far beyond his years as an incoming freshman. Those expecting a repeat savior are not being realistic.

Most people agree with you. I don’t think anyone on this board thinks he will be Melo; most posts are like yours when this topic is brought up.

I am curious what the most casual fans think and only know the name so they assume he’ll be like Melo.

I don’t think anyone has real high expectations for next year. Donnie was higher rated than Kiyan and Sadiq.

My optimistic hope is that Kiyan has an advanced offensive game for his age due to his dad.He will be able to get his spots and hit shots. I bet he pretty consistently gets to 15ppg. I’m not sure about his defense or rebounding.

He will be able to replace a big part of JJs scoring.

Ultimately we will need to hit big in the portal. I do like this class but we still need to add a lot to this roster

I don’t know anyone here that thinks he’s anything like his dad, or that he will have an impact like him especially after year 1.
