Class of 2025 SG Kiyan Anthony (NY) COMMITTED & SIGNED TO SYRACUSE (11/15/24)

So far it's a Red Autry/Syracuse/Kiyan Anthony love fest. Red getting a lot of face time.
What was that question from the announcer asking the color guy, if he was surprised Kiyan picked Cuse. Couldn’t figure out if that was a a crack at how we’ve fallen or that he would follow his old man.

His response was something like he picked Syracuse not because his dad went there, but he picked it because of Red Autry.

Shoutout from Bron…

I bet Kiyan has a similiar growth spurt as Carmelo. If he does, watch out. He could easily grow into a very skilled three man. Either way he brings a lot of skills to the table. 6-6 today from the foul line.
yep, he can be a 2-3 that can shoot or drive. We are starting to accumulate talent. Honestly, I have been critical of Red, but if we can build the roster appropriately and get an assistant in that knows how to coach defense and/or offense. We would be formidable, even with Red just as a manager. I think Kline has a lot of connections and he is good at talent evaluation.

Kiyan looking good again today vs LaLumiere. His team (Luhi) is also looking good and there are a few 2026 teammates that would look good in Orange. Thru 3 quarters, they are up 52-31.

Plus, they look very well coached, a little more so than yesterday when at times it resembled more AAU then prep school

Kiyan has to get a lot stronger. Very skilled, but he’s going to struggle against big, physical guards.

Didn’t know where to put this and it’s behind the Athletic paywall but you all get the idea.

When the fools on these threads are like oh Melo isn’t giving back or is too busy for Cuse just remember they don’t know what the hell is going on.

Dude has been out there trying to help Puerto Rico with his foundation. Just because we don’t see him bragging in the news every day to be in the spotlight doesn’t mean he’s not doing good stuff.

From what I can tell the whole Anthony family has their act together, we’re lucky to have them supporting the Orange.

NASL had close ties to a dude indicted in the FIFA bribery scandal. and then there was this gem this week.

If anyone person can turn this program around its Melo. His influence is huge for SU. There isn't any other person connected to Syracuse Basketball that has the chops and financial ability to change the direction of our program then him.

I dont disagree but for how long if we don't have the right coach???

Like he can assemble the Soldiers, but can the General deploy and use the right tactics.

Better players with a bad coach still doesn't really solve the problem. Just look at Mike Woodson, Kyle Neptune, etc.

I am insure if it coaching, or lack of players who want to play hard and are able to play smart.
He maybe a coach who is only as successful as his parts, and his parts aren’t good enough right now.
If next year is this bad, he has to be gone, but he has to get at least another year and show substantial progress.

White brings us someone that we haven’t had in a long time. A big time defensive stopper. Better yet, he loves playing defense and wants to guard the other team’s best player. He usually shuts them down. He has great quickness, lateral movement, timing blocking shots and an unbelievable reach. He can score ten points a game just by hustling and getting out on the break. He will bring some excitement back to the Dome.

A bigger Stevie Thompson?
