I think the freshman are going to make up a nice bench. Anthony’s ability to score off the bench is going to be huge. White’s athleticism and defense will allow Red to change defenses. Fennel is going to need a little time to adjust but is going to be a fan favorite eventually with his creativity and vision on offense.

I think Anthony might need some time to adjust to the speed and physicality too.

Definitely on defense. I think he will be ok on offense because he won’t be a major focus for opponents. There are going to be some games where he struggles. Starling and Kingz will be expected to do the heavy lifting but Kiyan will bail us out at least a few times next year.

Btw Kiyan has been guarded the entire game by D Peterson who is a top 5 player going to Kansas. 22 for Anthony against the 6th best team in the country with ten minutes left.
Also with all the pushing and attitude in this game Kiyan is as cool as the other side of the pillow.

I think people are really underrating his scoring ability.

He must have done most of his work in the 1st half. He’s been shutdown for the most part in the 2nd. A nice drive, was fouled on a 3, and a couple technical free throws.

Doesn’t seem to be involved at all on the defensive end.

Darryn Peterson is impressive. Could only hope to get a player like him..

Wish i had seen the first 80% of the game. How our guy got 20+... wasn't evident at the end.
Highlights looked good for him.

I hope we have him for 3+ years. He's going to need a lot of work. Weightroom. Looks like he's got a belly and no chest. He can get to be more explosive. He'll need strength for the mentality to be more aggressive.

This is the first full game I have watched of Kiyan’s in a year. He is still developing nicely and should be a good multi year player. Next year he will be a solid scoring option off the bench.

agreed. the shot difficulty he makes will easily translate to the next level imo...hes not playing vs small defenders, either

im excited to see if he could be one of those players that comes in and hits the ground running

Yes, His first three quarters were pretty impressive before he hit the wall. Can't say if that's been an issue for him, but looks like he might need to work on his endurance and motor. I do like the younger Mingo brother. Ranked #11 in the junior class.

He plays with composure and good basketball IQ. Compared to the other kids on the floor he doesn't play with any obvious passion or intensity, especially on the defensive end. A good complementary player with the right players around him. Seems like a great teammate with a good attitude. Definitely needs to mature physically.

Kiyan’s got some Lawrence Moten in this game. Looks to be fundamentally sound but slow laterally and weak physically

I like the Moten comparison. Better looking shot than Lawrence, high IQ, not as effective along the baseline.

But similar weaknesses athletically.
