Starling, Freeman and Kingz is a great offensive group, and we don’t even know who the other two starters are yet.Definitely on defense. I think he will be ok on offense because he won’t be a major focus for opponents. There are going to be some games where he struggles. Starling and Kingz will be expected to do the heavy lifting but Kiyan will bail us out at least a few times next year.
I didn't get a chance to watch the game until I got home from work, but avoided social media and the board so that I could enjoy it "pseudo live". That was quite the show by Kiyan with those bombs in the 2nd quarter -- had no idea he had that kind of range. As another poster referenced, the way things are trending, we should have one helluva bench next year (making the assumption here that we will get at least 2 more good portal guys). And thus, looking forward to (at the minimum) at least being back "on the bubble" like the good old days (at least the more recent ones, 4-8 years ago).Kiyan showing some range on back to back deep threes.
Watching the game yesterday I was focused just as much on Melo and he appears to be a fantastic athlete parent, always positive and cheering for the entire teams success. I’m sure his presence will have extra pressure for KiyanStarling, Freeman and Kingz is a great offensive group, and we don’t even know who the other two starters are yet.
Kiyan won’t need to come in and be great right away, just pick his shots, get used to playing defense, and fit in.
Looking forward to seeing Hall of Famer Carmelo Anthony at the Dome cheering on Kiyan. That will make anyone tingle.Watching the game yesterday I was focused just as much on Melo and he appears to be a fantastic athlete parent, always positive and cheering for the entire teams success. His offensive game is ready for college but he really needs to get stronger and work on his defense. Having a limited role his freshman year and having solid upperclassmen ahead of him is a great situation for Kiyan.Nice quick release, that’s going to help him out at Syracuse. Put on some weight and things are looking good. He has improved a lot the past couple years.
Just FWIW, this is actually selling Peterson short. Everyone was obsessed the last few years with the Cooper Flagg vs. Boozer debates...Peterson has leap frogged Boozer as the favorite to be the #1 pick in the draft next year.Btw Kiyan has been guarded the entire game by D Peterson who is a top 5 player going to Kansas. 22 for Anthony against the 6th best team in the country with ten minutes left.
Also with all the pushing and attitude in this game Kiyan is as cool as the other side of the pillow.

Agree. I'm curious what Melo's reaction is going to be if/when his son gets spot playing time. I'm sure he knows where his son might fit in the team concept, but as a typical dad it might be tough if he's not getting the opportunity you think he deserves. We'll see what added pressure this might put on Red's shoulders. He definitely needs to win games with whatever line ups he puts out there. His offensive game is ready for college but he really needs to get stronger and work on his defense. I am sure Melo knows the plan, and has signed off. Melo knows Billy, Josh, and Jeremy were just as important to the NC team as the starters. His pro career was hurt by lack of talent around him.Agree. I'm curious what Melo's reaction is going to be if/when his son gets spot playing time. But wasn’t it Cam Dantley that beat ND at ND?If you asked people on how many Syracuse players went to their dad's HOF induction ceremony, most people would say Jimmy and Buddy when they were very young. But didn't Cam Dantley go in 2008 and then came back and started at QB in a Cuse loss to Akron. Sad to say, he probably should have stayed in Springfield. Not a good time for Syracuse football
Big comeback victory to beat Pop's Alma Mater after Jimmy Clausen threw two big TD passes to Golden Tate. I'm sure the ND faithful weren't happy with the Dantley name that day.But wasn’t it Cam Dantley that beat ND at ND?
Considering how he scored 22 against the now number 1 player in the class last week it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he’s a super scoring 6th man. It’s the other end he needs to work on.Um is he still growing? I do like how we all seem to be setting reasonable expectations especially for year 1 on the board. But I think he is going to surprise us on how early he can be an impact player for Cuse.
I watched Kiyan play a few years ago when he came off the bench for a stacked Long Island Lutheran team and he seemed cool about it. He played hard and within the team concept. No hero ball at all. I think Melo has done well raising a good young man and talented player.Agree. I'm curious what Melo's reaction is going to be if/when his son gets spot playing time. This is why I think he can relish coming off the bench and being very successful.I watched Kiyan play a few years ago when he came off the bench for a stacked Long Island Lutheran team and he seemed cool about it.
