I know exactly who Alex is , but I find it funny you quote the post that bees is giving props to Francis and talk about how great Alex is. Comon man you are better than that. We are all on the same team here.

I apologize and that's still not enough for ya.

Tee, Marist is actually the school our guy Asante Gist transferred to back in January. They won their county chip I believe last week, so Mali and the crew better bring their A game.
Yeah, saw that yesterday looking at their roster. Reunited again! They scored 92 points in their first round.

Sensitivity is amazing.

But I attribute a lot of it to what's lost in translation in writing.

Tone of voice, inflection, etc. is lost.

It's the problem with email and this sort of communication.

Weren't you also touting another born-in-NYC kid by the name of Carmelo Anthony?
I think a few others like Mason for example, who was great back in the days were more plugged into the Melo situation than me at that point. Hodge was a unique situation because he had just finished his Junior year where he averaged about 21ppg in one of the best leagues in the country at the time, and basically had only a Rutgers offer to show for it when I had posted here. Funny how things eventually changed and he became a top 10 player after the AAU/Camp circuit. With Melo, I remember all of the anxious moments after he took his last shot at the ACT to try and get the qualifying test score. I can only imagine how this board would probably shut down if the same situation presented itself at this point again with a top 2 player in the class.

Agreed. The other thing that is consistently a factor is homerism. That's natural as we're all homers at one time or another. But if MR were going to Duke and I said what I said about him it would be "right on, he's a fraud that doesn't deserve to be a McD AA." I just gave an honest assessment that is shared by many folks who have seen him play.

Noone knocked your assessment. Why would they? But you got carried away when you started taking subtle, unwarranted, pot shots at Francis. If anything youre being real sensitive because of your assessment didnt go as planned.

Still dont know why your feathers are ruffled..

My feathers aren't ruffled. I didn't have a plan for my assessment-just gave an honest pov. In fact I wasn't surprised at the "haters gonna hate" reaction or the "he's bored, he's older", blah blah retort. Btw kinda tough to get a lecture from you on board etiquette when you've been involved in more than your fair share of dust-ups on these boards.

And im sure i will bump heads with a few more too. Just like a lot of other people do. Atleast i have legit reasons when i do.

Now i know why youre mad , and its because we are not fully behind that MR plays with no motor. Thats kinda petty imo. But i agree he could play harder. Im willing to bet that all changes once he gets to SU.

Do me a favor. Go back to page 19 and read my initial report on MR. Then look at the responses. Immediate smart @ss reactions from Tee (embarrassingly sounds like a fanboy) and Francis with Craig Forth and others chiming in right away. That's fine I'm a big boy and really didn't think that much of it then but it makes me chuckle now when I'm being accused now of taking unwarranted potshots, etc. Your "no one knocked your assessment" comment is BS. Btw several here did the same thing to CuseGuy a few pages prior to page 19.

I see. Your reasons for disagreement are legit but mine aren't. Okee-dokee.

Ok i see a difference of opinion, and a little joking going on. Nothing brutal. How many times have you seen him play.? Maybe that one game was a bad one from him in terms of settling for j's and being lackadaisical.

You're right, nothing brutal going on from either side. Lighten up.

Three times I've seen him play. I've said he has two flaws imo. His handle needs work and most importantly he needs to play with a LOT more intensity. This pov is shared by knowledgeable people in Mercer County who are far more familiar with his game than anyone else on this board.

Albany, two other people I know well and Bpo both came away with the same report after seeing him play.

Each of them said it jumps out at you.

My one friend said the coach rarely talks to Malachi. He just lets him play his game.

It's clear he has a sweet stroke and has garnered a lot of recognition, but he's going to have to show more effort at the next level.

No one is here to intentionally bash Malachi or take sides.

Just trying to tell everyone what we saw and heard.

Peace. Go Orange.

Well, I'm glad we've been able to move on from the bickering back and forth and started focusing on Malachi aga---oh, goddamnit.

I'm trying to give this a long rest. Ha.

Ok, it starts now.

Could not have said it any better. That's the point I've been trying to get across-that it jumps out at you. Amazing coincidence that several people who've actually gone to the games have the same opinion.

All of this over the fact to prove a point that Mali doesn't play hard and lacks intensity smh.

You guys better cool it before the internet police show up.

Bees has already been in these parts. He's carrying a big nightstick, too.

Btw Francis, I am watching a replay of Marist - Hudson Catholic. Marist lost the game (watching replay but caught the box score) but a few things. Gist is bigger and stronger. Not still sure he was for us, but he's a leader and good player on this team. The other kid Santiago can shoot and score! Fun to watch. Aside from that, I saw a couple of tough, athletic plays by Marist. One of the wings ran out on a shooter and got a piece of what seemed to be an open look, Warrick style. And they have the ability to get up and down even though this wasn't a high scoring game. They can play, but TCA has so many weapons in the back court. Should be an entertaining, high paced game.
