Class of 2016 SG/SF Andrew White (VA; Grad Transfer from Nebraska)

If I remember 1 story about AW3 correctly, it was at one point that he wanted to play close to home(flashbacks to the TT thread anyone? ). If that were the case and it was more important to him now after lessons learned, wouldnt Louisville be closer to his home than SU? I'm just bringing it up in case it does become a factor again...I've found very little definitive writing about his situation and the other teams he's interested in.

I havent read the whole thread yet. Im sure Louisville was trashed and we heard why it would be a bad choice. Were there anything actual objective posts about that, or were they mostly conjecture/wishful thinking like an "impending ban" against a coach not named Boeheim? I havent been able to find any real news(that I havent already seen) on the internet, so I'm looking for some help here. Thanks

Jeff Kelly over at Otto's Grove had a pretty good take on the factors which might affect the timing of White's decision. If it were the proximity to home thing driving his decision Jeff suggests that VCU might even be a dark horse here. For sure, he would be promised more PT at the Ville but if he wants to be on a team that will vie for the ACC championship and even larger goals Syracuse seems like the best choice. Jeff points out that July 5th is a date for start of summer classes / ergo today would be a day you'd figure he would give a nod if he were headed here but then again summer classes might not be high on the hierarchy of priorities for a 5th year transfer. One thing for sure... there has been a conspicuous lack of information from anywhere that might tip off where he will land. I'm just going to be patient and check this forum every minute and 30 seconds

Brings up the age-old discussion: does that mean Pitino is a 'good coach' or not, if the kids don't develop into NBA stars?

Pitino sucks so badly in many ways but he is an excellent coach (and Pimp). What happens in college while coaches have control is what matters, not when in the NBA.

lol I liked the quick recovery at the end of your post. Nobody deserves the trauma Ive been through in my 16 or whatever hour posting marathon on here today. I think Mr White would appreciate my avatar who has the same last name as him. I'd also find out if the guy enjoys getting krunk on occasion, which is about the only way it seems I can deal with these magic disappearing tricks I keep seeing on here today! Anyhow, I do appreciate your encouragement, and may decide against trying to get the ADL to help right the wrongs here.

Like I said earlier, AW3 is of "legal age"(a term a really dislike) and may be putting a few back himself today! In my estimation, that might make a commitment to the Cuse more likely if he feels the need to attend summer grad classes and has to commit while in a drunken stupor on a federal holiday to avoid that deadline!

Its remarkable that he can coach his team to perform at such a high level while also tending to the needs of all his working girls. I'd suspect it would be virtually impossible to do so we're it not for the white suit and shoes!

Green made a slick pass to Whyte on a fast break for a dunk and the commentator on ESPN said, "he is the one who knocks." Great stuff and it'd be shame if Whyte's nickname is not Heisenberg.

What does Mr. White want? Seems to me that it's likely not that difficult to figure out. He was already the man at Nebraska but something wasn't quite right.

The dude wants a significant role to showcase his talent to the NBA while wanting to be on a team that will get attention next year rather than being a bottom feeder program that no one cares to watch. His camp has made it pretty clear that this move is for NBA reasons. This isn't about him getting a better college experience. That said, Syracuse fits very well.

I haven't followed them, so this is a sincere question. I'm trying to discern reality from rationalization to get a better read on the situation, and I think there may possibly be one or 2 others who could benefit from such information as well. As I understand it, they definitely have a spot open for him (starter) but the giant question is whether he would want to join a team where you yet to know the punishment that will be handed down by the consistent and fair-minded NCAA. SU = White's home.

As for your earlier question, I don't know man. I'm not in such a good state to go looking for old posts. My motivation is quite low in that area even though I can clearly tell you that you're all good with me for whatever it's worth.

The incident with the woman on the restraunt table forever puts him in the not to be trusted catagory in my book. If you cheat on your wife you are dirtbag IMO. As an earlier post pointed out, if you cheat on your wife how seriously can players take you at your word. But it seems abundantly apparent in this day and age immorality and good coaching are not mutually exclusive.

I want all these posts to be right, but until this thread all Ive seen is how any school other than Syracuse gets off easy. Louiville already did a self ban, the same as SU did. When it comes to academics, I'd argue that cheating on a paper has much more to do with schooling than having casual sex, which happens every day on every campus in America, other than possibly some religious institutions. The currency often used is the cash to by the other person some beverages. In the Louisville case, the chicks just took the money instead and didnt have to get obliterated and remained conscious of their actions/choices. Maybe the moral authorities here can explain how that is worse than fornicating with a chick who cant remember her name or how she got wherever she ended up.

Thanks Jake, youre one of the few people on here I still semi have faith in. I'm not sure I'd equate the talent the same as you, although it certainly is a much more exciting position than a week ago!

Agree, I think JB would lengthen the bench, for sure. We would see more pressing, not only because we have the bodies, but because he saw the impact that the press had on really good teams.
