Durkin is the only name on that list that I'd be fine with SU considering him.

I'd much rather take the list of Top 10 passing offenses in the nation and either hire their head coach or offensive coordinator. No defensive coordinators from powerhouses. No failed HC's from mid-majors. No failed NFL offensive coordinators.

Which is fine. Have you seen SU football since 2002. I want somebody who will come in and energize the program and use us as springboard to a better job. I don't want a lifer unless they are JB and elite.
Cincinnati's last 3 HCs went to Michigan State, Notre Dame, Tennessee and the program is still competitive. I want to win games. Not be stuck worried HC is going to Penn State or South Carolina.

Rhule, fleck, or holiday. No order but that would be my list. I would like a coach to come in and slowly start running a wide open fast paced offense. I would like to see more of a normal defensive scheme that doesn't put out young undersized secondary out on an island and I really would love for a qb to come in here and not look like the 2nd coming of Peyton manning.

That's with every college minus the destination jobs like lsu bama fsu usc Michigan... We have been very lucky with jb and p. Loyalty is an admirable quality. These guys moving on isn't that big of a deal if we can establish ourselves and make the job more alluring. Hopefully we have the ad here that can find coaches that can come in and win. Also. If a coach is getting hired away that means he turned us into a winner and replacing him is all that much easier.

Get me a guy on a coaching tree that doesn't look like an upstate NY family tree. HC experience preferred. I can deal with questionable recruiting because if a guy can coach and has been successful he'll get recruits AND he'll hire guys to get recruits for him.

Hopefully we can identify the guy we want and go after him. Similar to what Michigan did, but on a smaller scale. I know we can't afford $8M a year. But it would be nice to see the purse strings opened a bit and not have to make a decision based on "who's available". I want someone that isn't currently available.
