Probably all the injured players out for the season - they have a bunch. Jones, Goodrick, Schlager and Ducharme. They may have given starting pg Shoats who fouled out tonight in about 11 minutes a clip board too.the bigger question is who are all the kids on siena's bench holding clip boards? lol.
i think the 2nd half they really missed not having another ball handler with choates.I think the world of Gerry and have watched every Siena game that he has coached. He did a great job tonight, until he didn't. Thats what people don't realize. You just can't hand him the keys to the Dome because he played there. He needs more experience. Especially in tight games. There are a few I would think he would want to do over.
I'm curious why he sat the backup PG, Christian Jones in the end of the 2nd half and OT and went with Henderson instead and just have Doty play PG.i think the 2nd half they really missed not having another ball handler with choates.
They not only don’t have a point guard, they don’t really have a big man at all. Mulvey isn’t an answer, their center, 6’10” Goodrick has been out for the season since December. They are playing a bunch of guards, small forwards. Folefac, the 6’7” freshman, 6’6” Chandler and 6’5” sophomore Doty are their “big men”.I'm curious why he sat the backup PG, Christian Jones in the end of the 2nd half and OT and went with Henderson instead and just have Doty play PG.
Jones didn't do too bad replacing Shoates in the first half, although he couldn't guard Kennedy. He chose Henderson for his D, instead of Jones for his O. And as good as Doty is, he's really not a PG.
Also for the number of guards they have none are statistically good 3 point shooters. They not only don’t have a point guard, they don’t really have a big man at all. And Folefac didn't even start the first nine games of the season until Goodrick got injured. They not only don’t have a point guard, they don’t really have a big man at all. Lots of good coaches ĺose every night. Siena took the #1 team in the league to overtime on the road.Gerry was not great tonight.
Kennedy will be playing at a much higher level next year. He's a protypical Philly guard. Not much off an outside shot, but is great at changing speeds with a great hesi move to get the defender off balanced. To be honest I thought Siena was toast after Merrimack took a 7 point lead with about 9 minutes left in the game. Siena didn’t take back a lead by 2 until just a little over a minute to go in the game. I was actually surprised they had clawed back to get it to OT. Siena had no one who could contain that Kennedy kid from Merrimack.
Gerry won't be happy. Siena was coasting with a 20 point lead in the 2nd half and then got a little sloppy and St. Peter's closed it to 8 with under two minutes to go. Coyle banked in a three and that sealed the victory.Really good win against St. Peter’s. Now tied with Saint Peter’s for second in the conference
Makes 19 wins on the year.
Two games left against Fairfield and Rider.
Hope they get 20 wins!![]()

They played against each other in high school and both committed to Merrimack out of high school. Clark portalled to Seton Hall before Clark or they would have been teammates at Merrimack. Those Philly pgs and players are tough - Miss seeing them at SU.He’s Budd Clark
Yeah, I do think Philly ballers are built a little different and they give us something we struggle to find from other players from other places. But the Philly guys, especially the guards, seem to have an edge to them. They played against each other in high school and both committed to Merrimack out of high school. Father Judge's Kevair Kennedy becomes latest Merrimack commit
Rich Flanagan (@richflanagan33) Kevair Kennedy recounted one of the most difficult nights of his young career as the turning point in how he approached his individual game and preparation. The Father Judge point guard was a sophomore playing at upstart West Catholic and he regularly heard Burwww.cityofbasketballlove.com
