Siena Basketball: GMAC / Blackwell / AO

And the 1 and 2 seed gets a first round bye, but you would rather finish first because you may have an easier path to the final game.

So, every game matters. And because it's on a regular cable channel, maybe the average viewer who hasn't seen Siena or Iona all season, might tune in as they are flipping channels.

And this game matters as much to Iona as Siena as they are 6-6 in conference, so it would put them over .500. And they've already beaten Siena once this year.

Plus, if you know MAAC history, these are the two most successful programs, so it is a big rivalry game.

So, on the outside it may not seem like a big game, only one where the home team is favored by 7.5, but if you dig it's a big game for both programs.
Careful Clifton, your talking about PHILS OPINIONS HERE!!! It's a message board and he is allowed to do that! Though it's crazy how he somehow writes his opinion like it's fact. You may see an edit, you have BEEN WARNED!!

Anyone watching this and thinking that GMAC can’t coach is nuts. Can he recruit is the question.

I would like to point out that Siena got the ball to their best players consistently down the stretch.

I’m not saying he should be Red’s replacement, but that was a well-organized, well-coached, disciplined team.

Like with GMAC you may not have Red level talent, but a GMAC team could likely have enough talent to punch up and beat a Red team because they are better coached and play with purpose consistently

I think he needs more seasoning, but I like some of the stuff I saw, to be honest. I think in a couple of more years, he could be ready. The timing seems to be off if we hit on our next hire, but he looks like he has way better coaching chops compared to Red. He could have a good future in coaching if he doesn't rush himself and takes the appropriate steps.

With NIL I guess it won’t matter as much how well he recruits. I’m at the point where I’d take anyone over Autry and was completely against anyone from the Boeheim tree at first, but Gerry is winning me over. If Siena makes the NCAA tournament this year then let’s make it happen.
