Thankfully, it looks like we're going as planned. But has anyone heard any interesting stories from other schools? Last minute flips, unexpected decisions, ill-advised hat ceremonies or other elaborate stunts, etc.

Very happy with the early returns on Harbaugh flipping commits.

Just took Haran Kigdon RB from Iowa (had an SU offer), flipped Grant Perry WR from Northwestern - hoping for flipping Van Jefferson WR from Ole Miss, Keith Washington CB, from Cal, and the big flip of Mike Weber RB from Ohio State.

Connecticut Zack Allen, who we were on early, flipped at the last minute from Northwestern to BC...

Yeah Penn State and Pitt have had some drama today. Penn State flipped a couple of their kids today and I've seen some internet scuttlebut that Narduzzi had some words for Franklin.

Also - Michigan and Florida - I've never seen anything like it and I don't care about the coaching changes. I don't think they're going to sign full classes. You're talking 2 elite football schools. They're both really struggled - i think it's unprecedented. I also thought Harbaugh would come in and kill it (even in only a few weeks) but he got drilled.

2 kids I still haven't seen anything on are Tyrone Wheatley and Kevionni Davis who flipped on us. I'm waiting to see if he signs with Oregon State or Florida.

Maybe I misspoke on Harbuagh, but he had way more misses than hits. Plus these kids he's flipping are from lower schools. It should be noted that he took a run at our own Troy Henderson. Henderson told him to go pound salt.

And originally Weber was committed to Michigan.

He had two weeks of recruiting and has been taking kids from other Power-5 schools - it's not like he's taking MAC kids. And Weber decommitted when Hoke was fired after a 5-7 season to go to the National Champions. Flipping him would be a major win in the first head-to-head battle between Harbaugh and Meyer.

Just flipped Keith Washington over from Cal.

Also, forgot about flipping 4-star QB Zach Gentry over from Texas. Yep, flipping all from lower schools.

He really hasn't been great, not horrible but not as good as many would have thought

that's more or less what I'm saying. People thought he'd come right in and wooh a top 10 class - even in a matter of a couple of weeks. That didn't happen.

He even lost a head up battle to Syracuse and couldn't flip another one of our kids so there's that.

Not as good as who thought? I know he's exceeded the expectations of Michigan fans like myself. He had two friggin' weeks to put together a class basically from scratch. The biggest need was a QB and he flipped a 4-star over from Texas, a number of other strong players over at the last minute from other Power-5 schools, and has made the final selection for the top player at 3 positions.

It was only going to be a 15-person class and Michigan has 6 4-stars out of 12 current commits, all covering positions of the greatest need. I'll take that class for the circumstances any day.

Michigan has been a failure. 5th ranked class in the Big 10 East.

Up 23-spots to 4th as of now before any other decisions today.

So what does that make our class which is the lowest ranked in the ACC?

It means the ACC killed it this year. Best top to bottom recruiting classes in P5.

We need to stay competitive with our peer Atlantic schools - Wake, BC, NC State and our cross division rival Pitt for me to consider it a success. So far so good with the exception of NC State. Can't be too disappointed, especially with the turmoil surrounding the coaching situation.

As for the big story for today - I'd have to say it's USC. People have said that UCLA is taking over; this recruiting class is a big statement for USC and Sarkisian.

I'm probably in the minority, but I think this level of recruiting is unacceptable. Last recruiting ranking I've seen has us 61st, and class rankings tend to be skewed toward larger classes and only two schools have a larger class than us outside the top-10, so really, in overall quality it's lower than that.

flipping kids from texas, iowa, and cal, not exactly murderer's row. bfd, like I said he hasn't been great, with his resume I would have expected more

As a fan - I'm not happy with a class until it's in the top 5 nationally. But I'm happy that each year's classes seem to be better. And that the parents who post here love our coaching staff.

We are not #61 anywhere, BTW.

#45, #56, #57

we all know stars really do not mean anything, but we had a 3-9 season and still filled out with 23 3* you look at anyone else with our record and its not even close from a ranking perspective. So obviously these guys can recruit and did a good job. Just imagine what continued winning seasons would look like for us.

that's interesting. I'm going to compile a list of all the schools with losing records and see how they recruited against each other.

But you're right, when you consider 3-9 our class was pretty solid. And there were a ton of multi-offer P5 kids.

Sadly, he's a gang rape cover up waiting to happen. How he escaped real media scrutiny for his actions after the Vanderbilt rape is mind boggling. He's a POS so he fits perfectly at Penn State.

Wasn't just him, that whole situation and how it was handled was disgusting. Hell, we had one of their alums on this board trying to tell us it was all no big deal.
