I think it is smart for Gerry to rush and build the team quickly to snag and prioritize players who would have been looked at by the big programs after they catch the big fish.

This team is better than the team that GMAC led at Siena that almost gave the dookies a heart attack. I believe that Gerry is a good coach to where we can win the games that we should win, pull off a few surprise upsets and lose some close competitive contests to good teams. All of that is a win and should raise our profile to get even better players next year.

Not sure if Duke will be better than Louisville this year. The Cards are having a nice off season

The bar is low because we have been a very bad team for a very long time. We’ve lost quite a bit to Siena type teams and lower level ACC teams over the past few years. Let’s get over the low bar with our average to lower than average power conference team and then keep going higher.

They won the second half by 18 points. They put two halves together and Gerry might not have gotten this job.

It showed in the second half that Duke probably shut themselves down. Just give Gerry credit for taking advantage of it.

mehhh, let's stop downplaying what happenen. Siena had a good gameplan. They win if Doty isn't tackled, injured and they call a flagrant foul. Downplaying Gerry at every moment is no different from the people here singing praises about Hodgson every time he signs some rando 30% 3 point shooter or midget Mack and just to be clear I was pro Hodgson before Gerry was hired,

Little too sensitive? I didn’t downplay Gerry and Siena. Duke just sucked.

I don’t think anyone is calling out gmac here. He game planned it perfectly with what he had. We are calling out that Duke has far superior talent and when they snapped out of their funk their wasn’t much gmac could do with the talent he had.

My point was he was a bad call and injury away from likely winning. People keep glossing over that.

I disagree, I have been very bullish with the lack of p4 talent brought in. add Wilson to this ranking and this is a good start for gmac. if he can find a point guard and another power forward I think he can coach this team up to a NCAA tourney team then more nil would come in and they would have a shot at some better talent next year.

I definitely didn’t say every poster.
 
I definitely have concerns about the level of talent so far, but at the same time I'm more bullish on the coaching quality.

Daly and Lee will be future HCs. It's a strong diverse staff.

not the class I pictured we would have at this point but it could be worse. think gmac needs to figure out how to recruit with the big boys. maybe Fran give some pointers.
