My thinking is if they bring in a C they could move Vet back to tackle and he could be the swing tackle while Red gets back up to speed. If they keep Vet at C then tackle becomes more of a need, but I think Bergeron and Servais both still start next year.

You dont think other QB's watch TD and say "yeah Im better than him"? The staff reaching out to specific QB's. That tells me they expect them to play over TD.

Doesn't mean that they will use all the open scholarships for this class. They still have to pay for the returning seniors.

Because only one of them have proved they can remotely play in the ACC and he’s still a question mark.

I might continue to say this for a while, but I'm sure the staff is already on it:

With the departures of Cisco, Trill, Meli, it looks like we absolutely need one or 2 more Rover DB's.

The only people that I think kind of fit that description right now on the roster are Coley and Labrosse. That's definitely not enough.

The good news is that the corner position still looks to be in good shape

Yup. It tells me they are telling certain QBs that there will be an open competition for QB1 in 2021. Why wouldn't they? It would only be in their best interest to identify and recruit someone with the belief that he has a chance to be QB1. I just don't buy the thought that TD is the preordained "anointed" one or that his presence and experience in the system will scare everyone off. If the staff thinks that the kid has the chops to compete for QB1 and the kid believes in himself enough to take that chance... it seems like a no brainer.

Whether they can find a kid like that, or whether that kid can legitimately beat out TD in an open competition is a different story. But to assume it is a foregone conclusion, in either direction, is faulty reasoning, IMO.

That's coming more from the fans. Amie not working out and missing out on Van Dyke and Velluiex. Those are 3 QB's the staff thought would compete against or pass Tommy. This issue is that we havent recruited the position well enough or developed what we have.

JaHad Carter played Rover this season. Folk was recruited as a Rover.

Heathy Coley might see Carter moved to safety so we’ll see how it shakes out.

I’ve been pretty down on SU football this season. But after watching Notre Dame Clemson Ohio State I’m pretty confident that SU has the best 1-10 college fb team in America. We played two of the top 4 teams tough. With the injuries youth and no real backup QB I remain hopeful for the future.

Thanks. Was thinking about Carter. He has the body type for it. And if I had gone back to check Folk's recruiting thread I would have seen that there was a whole article dedicated to him coming in as a Rover!
