So what do we know about UConn?

All I’m saying is everyone should pump the brakes a bit.

UConn is out for blood against us, they are going to play up a level. This is their Super Bowl. They hate us more than any team on schedule and they really want to play spoiler. Opening their lots for RVs Friday night for the first time ever in the history of UConn. Opening the parking lots 2 hours earlier than normal.

We beat Louisville pretty easily, but we don’t even know what Louisville is. All we know is they have Malik Cunningham. For all we know they are terrible and not as good as people said they were.

I think we win but I think we’re going to be on the edge of our seats a little more than we would like
No pumping of any brakes. Just hit the gas and run over the pups.

UCONN is far, far worse than Louisville. Outside of Wagner, they will be the worst team we see all year.

The Louisville offense looked like they were thinking and not attacking, from how I saw them play in previous years. Some of that was do to the SU D, some of that could be because they have a new OC. I do think that all those UCONN RV people and early arrivers are going to be texting their friends and asking, "why the hell aren't you here, were playing the Orange"? And Connecticut being such a small state, they will jump in their cars and go on down for the game.

They would have routed USU if there QB didn't get hurt. They brought in the true freshman , 1st game on the road and still almost won the game after giving up 24 points in the 2nd quarter. Probably would have won if the refs didn't give USU the worst PI I've ever seen, gave them the game.

How many times could I say that as a Syracuse fan. Boohoo.

I've said it when they gave FSU the game and at least 3 times they've given SPITT games against the Orange. You could watch that play and see what you think, it was an atrocity.

I know they have players who were in our recruiting zone and didn't get recruited by us, so that gives them a chip on their shoulder, but I think Randy the Bonus King is who really drove that hatred. he loves his alma mater in some ways but he is still beyond angry after all these years about not getting the gig when P got it. So, while their fans hate us, there won't be that many of them there to scare us a bit. does U Conn have much better coaching this year? yep, seems like it. but I will see their new staff and raise them an Anae, a Beck, a Ligashesky and a Johnson. Also, to continue what Cusian said above, we may not know how good or bad Louisville is, but even a bad Louisville is 100X better than U Conn. All that being said, I guess you never know until the game is played. but, I think we kinda know.

I know so much better than to respond to you when you are on a roll to make a point…

So, all of the early arrivers to this “new RV lot” are you going to be texting their friends on the day of the game and because Connecticut is “such a small state” those friends are going to Drop whatever it is they were doing or had planned and flock to the stadium?

It's going to be a happening. You only have to drive maybe an hour from just about anywhere in Connecticut and your at the Rent.

I'm hoping this is the game our Kicker has more points than our opponent.

I already penciled in Andre 11 Wagner 10 preseason

8 XP's and a FG?

He won’t. He’s a UConn and umass fan. He bragged for the last year about umass and now they’re ranked 131/131 by cfn. He’s not crowing right now.
Aw Jeez Bees. I'm an eastern football fan. This Cuse/Husky game has some juice to it, more than most of the ACC games.

Been shouting this from the mountains all week. Heard someone say “Uconn has an ACC RB, they’re going to give us fits” They have 1 ACC caliber player, and he’s going to give us fits? We just played an actual ACC TEAM, that is full of high level athletes including one of the most dangerous QBs in all of college football and dominated them from the opening whistle. Like you said Utah State had almost 550 yards and 31 first downs, CCSU was competitive with them until late into the 3rd quarter. Unless we turn the ball over 5 times, this isn’t going to be a competitive football game.

So many interesting dynamics in this one. Where would UConn's ACC caliper RB be on Lville's depth chart? 3rd string behind Vols and Cuse transfers at best I'd guess. How many UConn OL would start for Lville? Any?

That said, there is a lot to be said about desire and UConn players will have it whereas the more talented (than UConn) Lville roster came out a bit flat footed and got punched in the mouth. Presume UConn will try to do to us what we did to Lville in that regard? Will it matter? If we come out flat and they score first... It very well could. I don't think they'll win but presume they'll do everything they can to draw us into a rock fight. Flip side, if we score first and get up two scores fairly early it could get ugly quickly.

I don't think UConn can beat us but they'll show out well enough that we could beat ourselves. Thankfully I don't think our roster or coaches are mentally weak enough to allow that. Can't wait to find out though!

It should be noted that Utah State's QB was 20-29 for 281 yards and 3 TDs.

It should be noted that Utah State also ran for 261 yards.

Uconn passed for 119 yards, with 1 TD and 2 picks.

They did run for 245 yards.

Played a significant part of the game using 6 OL. It looked to me as though Utah State used their normal defensive set against this super heavy set and got pretty abused by it. I think UConn's success running was more about how stupid and conceited the Utah State coaching staff was than about how great UConn was running the ball. That said, UConn did a really nice job with their heavy sets and props to them.

But total yards was Utah State 542 to UConn's 364. Not sure Roberson would have made a big difference. He was 1-2 for 10 yards passing and had 3 carries for 8 yards running when he got hurt. Roberson probably would have done better than 12-31 passing (that is what Zion did) but I am pretty sure he is not a very good QB either. They moved the chains running the ball and once Utah State brought in an extra lineman to offset the extra lineman UConn was using, it was game over.

That is why the score was 14-0 UConn after the first quarter and 31-6 after that.

Because of our lack of size upfront expect to see UConn run the heavy set until the game is out of reach. Key for us is to take an early lead

Ever? Like, in the history of football?
No great Wizard, like in the plays and sets that are on tape from their first 2 games which is about all our DC has to work with at this point in time. TW is probably watching old Maine film to get a feel what Charlton might do.
