Someone Had To Do It: Miami Attendance

In years past, we would always say a coach who gets us to 8-9 wins consitently, we would put up a statue of him on campus. But I think it's a lot harder for the casuals to see how rare this season is. Hence why we have Wegmans gift cards and 2 for one fb/gtown deals in a 43k seat Dome
There’s that word, “consistently “

Yep. Yep. And yep. And that one operative word not having occurred yet, is the sole reason why attendance threads even exist. Casuals wont be swayed en masse until that 'word' becomes a reality. Crapping the bed saturday would be a really big pin stabbing the proverbial balloon in changing the narrative needed to not have attendance threads. Cant keep having casuals walking out of the Dome saying 'same old, 'same old.

When you lose to Stanford that stops momentum, dasher is right by a thousand percent
You want big time football? Then the community needs to act like it.

There are a lot of teams significantly worse than us this year with similar losses to our Stanford loss that didn't pack it in and stop coming. And it's no one on here, so none of them will see this... But there's a large enough population of people who consider themselves sports fans or Syracuse fans that bitch on social media and point at the Stanford loss or any other loss or reason as their excuse. People will continue to move the goalposts and give every reason why they won't come but then complain about performance or retaining players/coaches... Those are the people Syracuse needs to get into the building so we're not begging people to come to games like this.

I see a lot of ppl on this board who suggest we have a 'core base of die hards' of 32-35 k season ticket holders. I think that number is actually closer to 28-30k. Add the 3-6k students (depending on opponent and time), then the maybe 2k a game casuals, and we are at what weve been all year, 35-39k sans uconn game.

Using those numbers, assuming maybe 500-800 students show up saturday, getting to 39- 40k would actually be fairly impressive. It would mean almost 8-9k casuals, which would be 7k more than most games.

It still sucks we cant get a couple more k in the door and fill it up. Its just too hard a sell for too many casuals to reach the numbers, due to myriad of reasons we all discuss here regarding shting the bed time and time again, that we need to sell out.

That's my attempt at breaking down attendance #s. It all boils down to our 'die hard' base not being as big as is commonly assumed. But what do I know.
Good points.Hopefully we see a late push and hit 40k. Would be impressive sans the 3-4k students.

Anyone who cites Stanford as their reason to not come to the Dome is an admitted fair weather bandwagonner. They might as well root for Notre Dame or whoever else.

No respect for fans like that.
And ther e is a large contingent of cny “fans” who cheer for and follow the likes of FSU, Duke, UNC and others. Amazing, just amazing, god bless America

There are many casual fans with eyes on this game and they are talking about it. But I hear the same thing…..any time I go, they lose. If this game were earlier in the year and/or we were ranked, it would have resulted in more demand.

And win we have done this year!

Keep building.

First time in literally forever we went the entire regular season without two loses back to back.

That says something
And first time in years the team hasn’t cratered due to injuries. And we get guys back after injury.

But UConn was so disappointing. Reality check for me. We do not have a P4 fan base any more.

We have a lot of insta fans just add wins, I think Fran will get us back to the days of sell out crowds, it is tough after a couple decades of brutal football. Momentum in Syracuse is vital because you take this season and then turn it into a 5 win season next year you have to start from scratch. I hope Fran has a couple more tricks up his sleeve to bolster the talent on team next year especially at QB, not because we don’t have young talent but because we need to at least make a bowl game next year.

We went 20 plus years with garbage football. We lost a whole generation. it’s all people know today. Plus, we crap the bed on the National stage when it counts. Let’s hope it doesn’t happen on Saturday

No way this comes close to selling out. Too many to move in a few days. Drop them to $20 each and they’ll move. No one wants a silly $10 GC to Wegmans with their ticket as a “deal”.
speak for yourself!

The ticketmaster map doesn't look bad at all for 2 days out. I'm not expecting a sell out but it should be pretty packed without significant gaps.

IMO the biggest red flag that could hurt is the entire block of resale seats in the 200s. Whichever broker SU sold those tickets to should be flagged and not allowed to renew. Pure malpractice on their part.

Part of that is because they didn’t sell any season tickets in those sections as they were blocked off.

I’ve heard SU has plans for that corner but haven’t heard any specific details. Just that they didn’t want to sell seasons there and then have to move people.

Would be awesome if they made it a “standing room” area with a nice bar, good food etc.

Could be a cool little “party deck” area.

Again tho, I haven’t heard any official details on what it will be or what the plan is

The SEC doubling his salary will do that (holds for any ACC coach)
Fran said in regards to this, and I'm paraphrasing, "remember I'm from Camden, I'm good". When he says he's committed here for 10 years I believe him.

There comes a point in wealth where you're just building upon for future generations.
