Song of the Day II

My buddy from Wales maintains they were among the first punks. It works, if you think about it a little. :)
Your buddy is right. One can draw a line from Ray's disaffected themes and Dave's guitar sounds to the Ramones, S e x Pistols, Clash and the alternative rock movement that came afterward.

Toronto band from the early 70's. A buddy of mine going to college there lived in the same neighborhood and could hear them practicing in the garage at night. He didn't know which end of a guitar to hold, but he always brought beer, and he was their buddy. True story.

And it's a pretty good song. :)

Here's a cut from another great debut album, Graham Parker's Howlin' Wind
