Some football spring notes: Ivan Foy suspended because of academics and 5 players out because of injury: Eskridge, Arciniega, Robinson, Raymon and Kodua. Krautman and Kimble will be limited because of injury...

Pre-spring depth chart lists Ryan Sloan at DT opposite Crume. Marqez Hodge at middle linebacker

Offensive line: from left to right: Hickey, Palmer , Trudo, Knapp, Lasker

Logjam at wide receiver , but Funderburk is on the 2 line behind Broyld

PJ Batten appears to have moved to linebacker. Listed as third teammer behind Davis and Kirkland

Nate Mink‏@MinkNate2 mins
Alex Schoen also looks to have moved from wide receiver to cornerback

Shafer says Raymon has kept body weight down while recovering from knee injury. Eskridge (finger and hip) will be held out of contact

Oh whoops didn't see you had the Ivan Foy nugget in here. Mods can you delete my other thread?

Shafer says whigham had a strong winter. Batten move to linebacker not necessarily permanent but saw opportunity to earn playing time.

Nate Mink‏@MinkNate54 secs
Shafer said foy is completely separated from program except for academic support.

chris carlson‏@ccarlsononSU24m
WR Brisly Estime listed as starting H-back. Ashton Broyld listed as starter opposite West.

Bullough: "you can't anoint leaders. They have to grab it and take it." He mentioned Crume, Lynch, Eskridge

We speculated for awhile that Batten could (or would) move to Defensive End. I'm a bit suprised by linebacker. He must be a lot lighter than originally thought?

Listed at 6-3, 218#.

Not surprised by Trudo to C.

I am surprised though that Knapp is inside. Would think that Miller or Hayes would be serviceable enough at RG. I could see Lasker taking over RT with the increased time.

Or Palmer.

Re: Lasker--I think he's probably a more natural RT, but I have to say that factoring in the growing pains, he did a pretty darn good job filling in at LT when Hickey got knicked up. Lasker has two more years, right?

The Trudo slide makes sense. Palmer was the first interior lineman off the bench last year. Then gives you palmer-trudo-robinson as G-C-G. Hickey at LT. RT would be Lasker's for the taking- yes, he will be a junior next year. Backups then Knapp, Foy, and then would expect someone else to emerge this spring.

I think this Spring will solidify Hodge locking up the starting MIKE job.

Wasn't Batten supposed to be a Vernon Davis clone?

Going to be interesting to see if Foy is able to work his way back into the rotation, we all saw how deep Funderburke got buried in the dog house. Could be a huge blow seeing how well his development has come.

Agree. From what I've heard, I'll be shocked if Hodge isn't starting in the middle next year. Hear he's making some pretty good gains in the weightroom as well. He seems to be gaining some *good* weight.
