St. Joseph's Postgame

Hopefully Red learned that Fennell and Zephir should not leave the bench unless we’re ahead or behind by 20 with under 2 minutes to go in the game. In their short time on the court they were possibly -10.
Nah I don’t agree. These guys need reps to stay ready if needed. We should have learned our lessons over the years of not playing lower bench guys ever and then relying on them.

Man I’m so ready for Donnie to come back. We need someone to take charge on offense and hit FT’s.
How has Kiyan been regressing since the beginning of the season. So much skill but I guess that’s a freshman for you.
Not sure I see the skill level. His handle is weak. He doesn't guard. He's not Uber athletic. His skill seems to be finding his own shot in any situation.

Actually opposite the good teams don't have to worry about it, which is why we do... :-)
Good teams can worry about it due to seeding. If this team is still worrying about metrics than what are we even doing here.

A bunch of things I didn’t like
-what kind of culture are we building when Fennel and Zephyr come off the bench and feel empowered to take ill advised, wild shots? And why were those guys in during a close game?
-at some point will the coaching staff explain to Kiyan that he has to move the ball and that by holding it he is draining the shot clock and lessening our chances of getting a good look? If he is going to be a guy to take fouls shots late he has to understand that we were in the penalty and that faking a three pointer and risking a turnover is absurd.
-I have no idea why White only got 19 minutes, especially when we had the lead at the end and needed defense and rebounding
-JJ should have been benched in the first half for that insipid behind the back pass, which led to a five point swing.
-after a lousy first half I thought George played very well in the second half
-I wish Kingz hunted his offense like Anthony does. Would love to see him more assertive and keep going to the basket. His defense is relentless and outstanding.
-Kyle busts his ass, and I was thrilled to see him make some free throws. I have no question he’s putting in the work.

Actually, Soare's block outs created several defensive rebounds for Kingz, Starling and Betsy, who had a dozen between them. We totally miss Donnie, though.
You must be a nice guy because that is the most charitable description of Souare’s play I can imagine. I don’t think he brought anything to the table.

I mean if the goal is to win games while sleepwalking then we're good. Saint Joe's was on a nice little hot streak and looked in game shape, we looked like Iowa State form.

I hope Autry and the staff learned we're not longer in the around and find out mode on rotations. Fennel and Zephyr and Suoare can get run but in the first half its a hard watch when the other team is running well.

Or maybe we're all stupid because we got them in foul trouble and Kyle dominated down the stretch late,

Zephyr came into the game because our guards were getting torched on defense. People keep complaining that Red needs to hold guys accountable or sit. That’s why he played. You can’t have it both ways.
