Actually the strength of Mintz game was getting to the rim so to say he never got anywhere with his dribble……. not sure I agree with that assessment. What he couldn’t do was shoot the ball. And it’s not particularly close. Mintz relied on foul calls and never really got anywhere with his dribble. Starling puts his head down and gets to the hoop. Also appears to be more of a team player. JJ is getting better and better…

I didn’t see much of this game but last game that jumper hitch seemed to be back a bit. Was it present yesterday? No. A high scoring game against BC does not mean JJ is better than Judah. He might be better at finishing, but that’s really it.
A couple he shot weren’t close. He didn’t really need to shoot anything outside of 10 feet because BC makes our guys look like Aaron Craft on defense.I didn’t see much of this game but last game that jumper hitch seemed to be back a bit. Was it present yesterday?
Against the right teams, but even yesterday there was too much JJ in the second half. He, unfortunately, is not a point guard and that is what the team needs. Mintz and JJ were not a good pair, but Mintz did have 290 assists in his two years. JJ has missed games and it is not yet a full 2-year comparison but JJ is not yet close to 100 assists for his SU career.Much more efficient scorer.
We are afraid of Grandpa.I’ll tell you one thing, this board’s 10x more critical of JJ than Judah.
The board was pretty critical of Mintz last year. He’s still the better player. I won’t argue that JJ is more likable.I’ll tell you one thing, this board’s 10x more critical of JJ than Judah.
I forgot all about that hahaWe are afraid of Grandpa.
I think Judah’s the better basketball player currently, yeah. Much more polished. The board was pretty critical of Mintz last year. He’s still the better player. I won’t argue that JJ is more likable.
It looks bizarre but somehow works for him.I've noticed the few times that JJ actually does go left to the hole and finishes, he always attempts/finishes with his right hand. This was the case even before his left wrist injury. He was able to execute that yesterday against a bad BC team, however, it just looks so awkward IMO.
Scoop was a better passer but that’s a good comp. Some may disagree, but I had a random thought yesterday. JJ's game reminds me a bit of Scoop Jardine.
Pretty crafty at getting into the lane with floaters. Good but not great outside shooter. Generally has the ball in his hands at critical junctures of games.
Carlos averages 4.3 ast with 1.8 TOs - not bad.Well, Mintz averaged 4.5 assists, JJ 2.2. So as far as a point, there’s that.
