Steve Angeli: Torn Achilles

All these players have signed. Is one of them a quarterback? Please don’t tell me all we need is Angeli.

Also he just got here and in Tenn game I noticed just a bit of being unsure but he didn’t have all playbook down in my head. He started humming bye Clemson game and we would be 8-4 9-3 with him. Next year he will know it bye heart and hopefully we have a solid oline coach to fix our oline play and if we can run ball. We may be pretty good depending on who we get in portal. Need solid backup who can throw the ball at least a bit. Need 2 dt and 1 solid oline guy. Safety and lb too who can play.
My friend and his wife (a UT grad) went to ATL for the opener. They had tickets with the UT crowd but he wore his Ernie Davis jersey! Always reppin Cuse in Vol Country. He told me that all of the UT fans he spoke with were very impressed with Angeli by the end of the game. They saw big things for him and Cuse. I think rabid UT fans know real QB’s when they see them. They have had their fair share.

Zaid's Lot? Lottsa Zaid? There's a "Poetry in Moten" waiting to happen here. I can't quite put my finger on it yet.

We don’t know yet if Calvin will be physically strong enough on day 1. JRS was a dog and would fight for those 50/50 balls.
Him being an early enrollee and going through the strength and nutrition program. I believe he will be much bigger and stronger in 2026 going through a whole offseason getting his body right, but we will see.

Oh, my gosh. Compared to what we endured the last 8 games he looks like Peyton Manning.
everyone notice how the majority of the plays were either calls where the ball was pushed down the field, or we used slants , and used the middle of the field . That’s where Nixon’s offensive looks amazing and excels. Once he went down they were forced to use 1 side of the field and typically from the boundary to the sideline because of fear of INT’s throwing it in the middle of the field , and trying to simplify the reads. I would just be showing our WR’s thinking to transfer this on replay to remember how efficient and well executed it was.

I forgot how good he looked. Thanks for sharing. Just show this to Russell and he will thank his lucky stars he’s coming to SU.

he’s coming

Wow... Watching that video, if he is already that far recovered, it feels like a near certainty he'll be back to full speed in time for fall practice.

He doesn't seem to plant fully when throwing, but he looks really advanced in his recovery.

The thing that stood out to me was the way he was over rotating his right foot in an exaggerated way. They aren't just doing basic motion rehab, that's practicing for full speed reps.

Really enthused by that video. I was worried he would be just returning to full speed in the summer, and the coaches literally wouldn't know if he would be ready to play by August, after they had to pull the trigger on recruiting a starter at QB from the portal.

Angeli being ready to at least take full speed noncontact reps in the spring means they can worry about a quality backup...

Percent chance Miami and Tennessee and others looking for a starting QB are trying to tamper with Steve Angeli right now?
