Steve Angeli: Torn Achilles

Hmmm. Really hoping he heals. Maybe he's just used to favoring it and his hitch is more of a practiced gait, than something that really requires a light step to prevent it from getting re-injured.
Who knows. The success of the season may hinge on his heel.

I'm not concerned yet but obviously if he's not a full-go for summer lifting/conditioning that will be a huge issue.
I have seen a video of him working out this winter with the team? It’s where Fran is talking to him while he lifts some weight with his legs.

The bionics can take up to 8 months to be fully functional.

Still looks a little gimpy to me...
Whether it is just residual stiffness or if he is still in pain is important. He might be able to play through both or neither. Either might affect his ability to play at a high level.

It might be an injury he feels for the rest of his life. I still feel my 35 year old ACL and MCL injuries a lot of days. I can't imagine an Achilles is any more forgiving. I had about 20 other injuries I don't remember because they healed completely.

The hope is Angeli's recovery will be complete enough to allow him to play at his previous level and eventually even forget about.

Fran says things. How those backups doing?
they're real. and they're spectacular. I know we joke about deep QB room comments...so folks will have to see it to believe it...but we invested heavily and the quality difference is very apparent to everyone around the program. Folks were NOT saying that last year after watching Ricky in practice.

I think folks will be pleasantly surprised by a lot of the transfers, too (e.g. Cole Weaver, the Toledo LB and others).
